Trump's Second Term

Q: Could your recent dustups with Newsom impact wildfire relief?

TRUMP: Sure, maybe. He shouldn't have fires like that. You clean the floor of your forest and you won't have any forest fires.

More stupid. Do any of these media mopes have the balls to ask for evidence for this "cleaning the forest?" I know this moron mis-heard something about forest management and is spouting what he thinks he heard, but for ◊◊◊◊'s sake, when is the legacy media going to start calling this stupidity out?

It's just a crocodillian response. Say "forest fires" to him and this is his unthought-through trigger response.

Tump on the US Civil War

Trump: "The Civil War -- it always seemed to me maybe that could've been solved without losing 600,000 plus people."

Well, he's not wrong. The slavers could've voluntarily freed the slaves and avoided the war.
With Trump being such a good deal-maker, he could have promised to name some U.S. Army bases after their generals in exchange, and then not done it afterward.

Trump has zero idea what the USA Civil War was about, it's causes, battles, outcomes or subsequent political fallouts. He won't know Lincoln's fate either, just that he rates himself higher. He won't even know when it all happened. Maybe before Biden was president?

This is the guy who said he would end the Russian Ukrainian war in a day.

King Schitler: "I'm going to have NASA build a time machine. I'll go back and stop the Civil War in one day!"
Well--give him some credit, if he was in Lincoln's position he simply would have signed an EO giving Biblical justification for slavery, then offer to concede the war in return for the South buying his cryptocurrency and erecting bigger statues of himself next to the ones of Gen Lee--war ends!

Does anyone remember the eve of the election when Trump accused Kamala Harris of being a warmonger who would invade the Middle East?

Trump claims Harris will ‘invade the Middle East’ in final appeal to Arab voters

“We are building the biggest and broadest coalition in American political history. This includes record-breaking numbers of Arab and Muslim Voters in Michigan who want PEACE,” Trump writes on X.

“They know Kamala and her warmonger Cabinet will invade the Middle East, get millions of Muslims killed and start World War III,” he adds, pledging to “BRING BACK PEACE!”

Oh yeah. Also, does anyone remember the deal that Obama had with Iran that would have prevented Iran from enriching uranium? The one that Trump campaigned against and backed out of during his first term?

Under the deal, Iran agreed not to pursue nuclear weapons and to allow continuous monitoring of its compliance in exchange for relief from economic sanctions. Different parts of the agreement were scheduled to last between 10 and 25 years. Obama officials hoped for future renegotiations.

Iran agreed to relinquish nearly all of its enriched uranium stockpile (97%) and 70% of its centrifuges, which are used to enrich uranium. It also agreed to stop plutonium production and to dismantle its plutonium reactor.
Nope. Trump wanted a better deal. Instead, we got no deal at all and Iran went back to enriching uranium. Well, where did that lead?

Now?

Enthralled by Israel’s successes, Trump appears poised to join campaign against Iran

The American president, who campaigned on a platform of ending “forever wars” and expelling “warmongers” from the White House, has been sounding an increasingly bellicose tone toward Iran with each passing day.
And on Tuesday, he was demanding Iran’s “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” and issuing threats against Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Also that day, Trump had told reporters that the US was “not looking for a ceasefire,” and that he was “not in the mood to negotiate.”

On Wednesday, he demanded “total and complete victory.”

Israel anticipates that Trump will enter the fray. “We would be very surprised if the Americans don’t join the offensive. We assess that it’s not a question of if — but of when,” two senior Israeli officials told Channel 12 on Wednesday.

“Mentally, he’s in attack mode — not isolationism. Something truly exceptional would have to happen for him not to join,” they said.

So glad we got rid of those warmongering Democrats so that Trump could usher in a new era of peace and prosperity.

All of that is fine and dandy, but what is the correct stance other nations and all peoples should take with respect to Trump's USA? Chat about it with indignation, expiate our sins by being "right thinking" persons above the fray, and have a nice comfy latte? Let us bear in mind that:
  • The US now clearly aligns itself with its former enemies against its former allies
  • The US is openly participating in genocide with unwavering support from both major parties
  • The US misused its allies in two major wars, only to abandon all and walk away, spending allied lives haphazardly and with no regard
  • The US is now openly toying with nuclear war (big booms for big boys to celebrate in the playroom)
  • The US has zero regard for international laws and norms
  • USA First means "I win, you lose" in all matters, so "knuckle under"
  • The US now supports imperial conquest of lands it whimsically feels nice to own
  • The US declares its national security interests trump all, superseding law, given word, signed treaties, and just yesterday's promises
  • There is more than an even chance that no matter US public opinion, one fixated on the price of eggs and other bling boy "crises", shall not prevail against the authoritarian regime now in power, such that removal of this regime may only be accomplished by force
  • The US disregards all international legal and consultative bodies as illegitimate
  • The US holds itself above the ICJ and ICC, claiming bias while stating its own jurisprudence is free of it (let us barf, heave again, and barf)
  • Its own Supreme Court has granted the nation's dear leader god-like impunity
  • US troops now goose step across the land
  • Lil' boy popgun pansies now run around assassinating their non-Nazi neighbors in a growing nationwide putsch
I believe that an informed stance requires an honest adult not living in Russia or Israel to conclude that the United States of America, a deeply flawed nation in the grip of above-Goebbels-level propaganda, is the enemy, the main adversary of the rule of law and rights-based governance going forward. That all preparation must be made, first to survive American aggression, then to overcome and defeat it. That all nations and persons wishing to abide by international law, humanitarian concerns, and measures required for the survival of essential ecosystems must now unite against the US of A and prepare to oppose it and thwart its actions by any and all means. Any and all, short of nuclear war.

Or is the best response to knuckle under, kiss ring, and beg?

There is no third option that is not imaginary. Today's US is the enemy. Now what?

I think what's new is that he believes his own lies. That probably happened about 25% of the time first term, now it is probably closer to 75%. Primarily as a consequence of surrounding himself with yes men, combined with declining mental health.
It's not so much that he believes his own lies, it's that he is utterly convinced that he is such a perfect human being that nothing but truth can come from his mouth. If something someone else says contradicts what he says, then they are the liar. They have to be.

SLOTKIN: Does the uniformed military have the ability to arrest and detain protesters?

HEGSETH: Um. I --

S: It's a yes or no thing

H: These troops are given very clear orders

S: What are the orders?

H: All of these orders and what they are sent to do it public

S: So say it -- yes or no

H: They are there to protect law enforcement, ICE officers

Did Slotkin give up after that?
