2 or 3 people can be shot in one "action." If you shoot 4 people you were trying for multiple people.

It's arbitrary and imprecise, but there's some logic to it.

I mean ideally we wouldn't HAVE SO MANY ******* SHOOTINGS THAT WE NEED TO MAKE THIS DISTINCTION but there I go on my crazy talk again.

In rhetoric and philosopy, etc., it's called the "sorites paradox," though it's really more like a fallacy based on the imprecision of language. If you have a pile of sand and continuously remove one grain at a time, when does it stop being a pile? If you have a single grain of sand, and add one grain of sand, can it ever become a pile? Which grain did it?

The arbitrary tipping point depends on what you're doing and why, and pretty much on what you decide, but ultimately it's better if you're trying to be logical and precise not to use indeterminate terms.

No arrests announced after 4 people shot at graduation party in Manchester

MANCHESTER, N.H. — 4 people who were shot at a graduation party in Manchester on Saturday afternoon were taken to local hospitals, police said.

Manchester police said they got a number of calls about a shooting with multiple victims around 4:50 p.m. on Saturday. It occurred near Ahern and O'Malley Streets.

Officers responding learned a gathering was taking place in the area when the incident occurred, police said.

Four young adults, two women and two men, all in their 20's suffered gunshot wounds and are being treated at a local hospital, police said. They are expected to survive.

I only posted this because it's less than 20 miles from me. Otherwise, it's just a minor, ho-hum mass shooting, I mean, nobody was killed, so who cares, right? We've become so used to these shootings that unless several people died, it's just another day.

I am aware of the 4,000 or so who served in the 'Free India Legion', which was absorbed into the SS in late '44. What are the other "Lots"?
 
I just stumbled across this mass shooting on twitter. GVA.org still has it listed as 9 victims when in actuality there were 10 victims.


I'm going to guess due to the lack of the media's coverage, and the body cam footage, that the individuals involved are not the white supremacist terrorists the president keeps warming us about.


ETA: This is the 11th mass shooting with 10 or more victims so far this year. Only 1 of them are potentially by a "white supremacist."
