I like “folk” or if I want to be more formal “people”.
How about 'Morning everyone'? Difficult to see how any could be excluded from that by definition...

LNER has been owned by the Department for Transport for three years, so this is essentially Boris Johnson making the apology.
However, it still has a train on the Edinburgh-London route named "The Flying Scotsman", how non-inclusive is that FFS?
"Not offending the non-binaries" is not the point. The point is not excluding them.
This is a very very very telling thing to say. It shows you don't understand even the basics of the topic.
Transwomen have nothing to do with this case. Transwomen are not 'non-binary'
No, you and the other people who are working so very hard to try to be offended about this.

Nah.
Think he means the passenger.
Assuming the person identifies as a passenger and not "non-body movement stasus"....and identifies as a person and not "non definable object"
Is this yet another of those thread where a bunch of 'skeptics' rail against a thing that they demonstrate they don't even understand while simultaneously claiming that it's a stupid thing to get annoyed about and they don't care about the *insert whatever epithet applies to the particular group that has annoyed them today by asking to treated as if they matter* anyway?
Cos we need more of them.
Yup, that's the stuff. Also serves as a fair indication of exactly how prone to knee-jerk reactions you are, too.

Pisstakes need to have some connection to reality otherwise they aren't pisstakes.
Is this another one of those 'right wing comedy fails' where they think shouting something offensive is a funny joke?
Or was it a subtle lampooning of the kind of idiots who would say such a stupid thing? That may actually have been clever.
One crucial point has been missed in all this palaver: the news report in the OP was from The Sun.
Do we know it was actually true? Has it been confirmed by some proper source?
Sorry, but it just looked like a clear and obvious pisstake to me.
Maybe its a cultural thing, The Atheist, cullennz and I are all kiwis... our senses of humour are probably quite different from yours.
Mine's warped I know; I can see the humour in dark and sometimes offensive things... I don't know about cullennz but I'm sure The Atheist and I at least have this in common.
Oh, and 'right wing comedy'? Really? That's really hilarious. You don't know The Atheist or I very well at all.

Maybe you missed my point. Saying something offensive linked to the case could very well be a pisstake but saying something offensive that isn't linked to the case isn't a pisstake of the case at all.
Had he said 'just goes to show that Jews are tight with money' it would have been equally relevant and offensive but would still have left me confused as to whether he understood what the story was about.
and yes 'blurting out offensive non-sequiturs as if you have discovered a massive gotcha' is very much a trademark of right-wing comedy. Which is why it's generally not funny to anyone other than idiots. Because it just leaves you thinking 'that doesn't make any sense, you don't know what you are talking about' while the idiots think 'hahaha yeah jews ARE greedy hahaha'
Simple recognition (or, more accurately, not being excluded) in something like a train announcement is hardly "restitution", it's just a simple awareness of reality.
Non-binary people exist.
There are two kinds of people in this world:
1.) People who understand binary.
In 1787, many American Congressmen questioned the premise that black slaves were "people" for governmental purposes.
However, non-binary is a gender identity, not a proposed disorder whose existence or non-existence is a matter of debate within the field of psychiatry.
For what it's worth, the complainants did not claim to be "offended". They merely reported that it made them uncomfortable.
There are people who are physically non-binary.
No. Let's accept that the current expert opinion and guidance is the only appropriate framework for making policy decisions (including decisions made by rail operators wrt nonbinary people).
You messed that one up. It's "there are 10 kinds of people in this world: those who understand binary and those who don't."
