Trump's Second Term

Why would Ukraine accept any security guarantees from Russia given their violation of previously signed guarantees? (The Budapest Memoranda)
It would be utterly foolish.
Because they are running out of options.
But let's be honest. It's not much Trumps fault (so far). The west didn't do enough to help Ukraine fighting the Russians back to their land.
Lend-Lease Act of 2022 expired unused at 2023.
Did the west help Ukraine? Yes.
Could it have been (way) more? Yes!
Unfortunately it was always just enough to slow down Russia, but never enough to really push Russia back.

Yeah go full appeasement with the Russians, that's a policy that always works so well. I would compare Trump to Chamberlain, but Chamberlain had a working knowledge of economics.
And Chamberlain's appeasement had a plan behind it. The thinking at the time of Munich was that the UK and France would need until 1940 to be ready for war, not realising that the nazis were even less ready than them.

Trampy's only appeasing for head scratches from Putain.

Donald says it was unanimous.

President Donald J. Trump was just unanimously elected Chairman of the Board of the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The President stated, "It is a Great Honor to be Chairman of The Kennedy Center, especially with this amazing Board of Trustees. We will make The Kennedy Center a very special and exciting place!

Reporter: Which White House official made the decision to bar the AP reporter?
Leavitt: It is a privilege to cover this WH
Reporter: Isn't this retaliatory?
Leavitt: It is a fact that the body of water off the coast of Louisiana is called the Gulf of America

It is a fact that we have always been at war with Eurasia called it the Gulf of America

So, what about Ukraine's supposed $500B of rare earth and other mineral wealth that Trump wants to get his hands on? He won't get it if Russia gets the land on top of it. Seems to me that's the real negotiation Trump has - with Zelensky - because it certainly sounds like Trump's decided Putin can keep what he's stolen so far.

What does Trump have to offer Zelensky in return for the rights to exploit the unoccupied portion of Ukraine? The same promise of protection Ukraine got in 1991? It needs to be a better offer than the alternative of battling on with hoped-for increased support from an increasingly alarmed EU.

Some judges are resisting. It remains to be seen whether Trump will just continue to ignore the courts and rely on the Supreme Court to get his own way, or enough decent people manage to enforce the rule of law and curb his excesses.

No, judges are applying the law and stopping trump and elonia from breaking it. Or at least trying to stop them.

I don’t understand: is this an example that shows that corruption investigations are unnecessary and can be abolished, or that they are even more necessary, and should be intensified?
This is an example of government spreading disinformation under the guise of combating disinformation.

What? No. The security guarantees would come from Western nations, not Russia.

Of course it was unanimous! He was the only attendee at the meeting, even though he was sitting on the Laz-E-Boy in front of the TV at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave at the time.

By now, anything that Trump says is almost assuredly a lie.
