I have read some random threads on the board, and I don't believe that those mannerisms/word choices -- while they may come across that way -- are meant in a condescending way. It's just the way HC expresses himself normally.
I think this whole thing developed because:
(1) They did not know Lucianarchy or his history (a search of usenet in sci.skeptic for luci or one of his 20-30 sockpuppets would give a great deal of insight, btw);
(2) They specifically did not know L's history here with you; and
(3) You came in with guns blazing.
With L, I will admit there is almost no way to hold his feet to the floor without the "in your face" approach. Tenacity is spun by L into persecution.
But because the Fortean board did not know his history, your arrival on the scene was seen as an unwarranted attack; the board reacted accordingly.
But listen to me on this one,

It was unfortunate that it happened that way, but the controversy is over; L showed his true colors shortly thereafter.

You are here arguing a "letter of the law" point about specifically what they banned you for, when they were reading their pronouncements as "lay off the gender thing" and looking at your lists and recaps as an intentional effort to flaunt their warnings.
You may not have meant it that way; either one of you may be right -- I don't know without re-reading everything. But I do know this: being right or wrong on this one point just doesn't
matter.
