Cont: The thread for stupidity from GQP politicians who don't have their own thread Part II

It is a conundrum how the US managed to become a global economic and political superpower before the recent mass immigration. Americans are so stupid, after all. This requires vigorous study at taxpayer expense.

Yeah, if it's one thing we know it's that every achievement in the United States has come from homegrown citizens. None of it was built on the backs of immigrants from the Native Americans, to the Asians that built the railroads, the Irish, PoC, etc. It's all been homegrown, white citizens.

Do you even listen to how stupid that implication is? I wasn't even going to bother replying at first, but I'm very bored at work.

Maybe that's why the righties are so anti-immigration! They're so uneducated that they have absolutely no idea the history of this country, or how it came to be, so they just assume that this country was built by a bunch of walking mayo jars.

Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a GOP leader posting AI images of himself assaulting Santa and crying "snowflakes" at the backlash...
I found it hard to believe this was real but apparently it is. Posted at 6:38am Christmas morning, no less. :boggled:

Wow. I admit it's a good few years since I could honestly call myself a Christian, but once upon a time we gullible tads were taught that Jesus was kind of a one-off. You know, like the next step is goodbye world? And furthermore, that the decision to kill him was not actually a very good one.

It brings up an interesting point, given that an alarming number of today's Christians seem to believe Trump is the second coming. If Mr. Hutchings is one of those, he'd better beware the answered prayer!

"Bureaucratic overreach and unfunded mandates", eh? Did he happen to even notice Musk and DOGE earlier in 2025?

JUST TALKED TO TRUMP. ! I’m beyond excited and incredibly grateful.

President Trump stopped to talk with me after the New Year’s Party, and it was truly an honor to shake the President’s hand on New Year’s Day.

He told everyone how loyal I’ve been, and that meant more to me than words can say.

I’ve never taken my red hat off, even after the 2020 election, because it’s not just a hat to me. It’s a symbol. It’s a movement that’s bigger than any one person, and I’m thankful I get to be part of something he started.

He may not be perfect in everyone’s eyes, but to me he’s the perfect man for the job.

I’m deeply thankful, humbled, and proud to continue standing with the greatest President of our lifetime

Happy New Year

Greatest president of our lifetime. Not the 'greatest president of all time?' That's a switch. Also, the man who made that statement was born in 1991 so his endorsement --"our lifetime" -- only covers President's George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden. (I'd place trump a distant sixth in that group.) In fact, he wouldn't even have been old enough to vote until the 2012 election.

One continuing question I have. Most of trump's flunkies say he's "the greatest president ever" (Kristi Noem) or the "greatest president in our history" (Pam Bondi) but they never talk about why he's the greatest. What has trump done that makes them believe he's the greatest? I mean that covers a lot of ground. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan. What is so special about trump? What are his qualifications to lay claim to "greatest ever?" Answer it? They won't even discuss it! Other than to mouth gibberish about "the feeling" in our country since trump's been in office.

The irony is, a lot of people describe that 'feeling' as the reason why they believe trump is the absolute worst president in our history. I know, I'm one of them!

Not to disagree with the how it feels, but personally, I don't think that I have stated that as a reason to believe that Trump's the absolute worst. But then, anyone who truly cares about patriotism, decency, dignity, law and order, a better economy, and a brighter future or opposes corruption, malicious lies, and government waste has plenty of cause to believe that. In some of those categories, there are real contenders that could be considered worse, but big picture? There's no President even close to as horrendous overall.

No other president has shaken so many hands that he has to use makeup on the back of both hands. Which proves he's ambidextrous. How many other presidents have been ambidextrous?

He's eloquent. No other president has ever pronounced a teleprompter's words like Trump. And he's never stumped for words. He has used words no other president ever even thought of: groceries, covfefe, Azure-asians, Yo-sa-might, bigly.

No other president has demonstrated deductive powers that remotely resemble Trump's. What other president has recognized a pandemic as a hoax? That Russia is a hoax? That affordability is a hoax? That his good pal Epstein, like climate change, was just a hoax?

No other president has reduced consumer prices by 500%, let alone 1700%.

No other president saved 258 million American lives during his first hundred days in office.

No previous president has renovated the White House like Trump. Some of his weak-kneed predecessors were content with internal renovations. Not Trump. He completely demolished the east wing.

No previous president was constitutionally immune from prosecution for illegal acts. No other president has been able to overcome 34 felony convictions.

No other president has aced an IQ test with answers like "person, woman, man, camera, TV".

And did you ever see Trump wearing a tan suit?

STFU, and wipe off your nose . . . and mouth.

Former Frasier star, Kelsey Grammer thinks trump is a great president, "Maybe the greatest." Why? His reasons were reviewed in a USA Today article several weeks ago.

  • trump has "some things he still wants to get done" but there was "a big hill to climb."
  • It's great to have a president who "means what they say."
  • trump's focus is "on the common man."

He spent New Year’s Eve alone in a parking lot filming the entrance to a daycare...
What is new lear? It's playing off the fact right-wingers have been making a HUGE deal out of a day care center in Minneapolis that had a sign with a typo. That's where the guy was filming. It's supposed to be a fraud operation. By Somalians.

From CNN affiliate KARE TV in Minneapolis:
Ibrahim Ali, a manager at the center, said his parents own the facility. Ali said the center serves roughly 50 to 80 children on an average day and employs approximately 25 workers. “There’s no fraud going on whatsoever,” Ali said. He also said the misspelled sign featured in the video was an error by the graphic designer and will soon be corrected. KARE article link

What they don't realise is that Trump thinks the spelling error is substituting an a for an e.

The place is obviously named after the famous (in the UK at least) nonsense poet (and nature illustrator), Edward of that ilk...
How pleasant to know Mr. Lear,
Who has written such volumes of stuff.
Some think him ill-tempered and queer,
But a few find him pleasant enough.

Mind you, the last verse...
He reads, but he does not speak, Spanish,
He cannot abide ginger beer;
Ere the days of his pilgrimage vanish,
How pleasant to know Mr. Lear!
mentions Spanish, which is probably enough to raise suspicion in certain people's minds...

He needs to hope no one brings this to Trump's attention, Trump doesn't like nasty people making nasty posts about him "..greatest President of our lifetime " our lifetime.... He's the greatest President of all lifetimes and of all of time and space.

This is the problem I think so many of us have with maga fans.

The above reasons Kelsey Grammer cites are not in any objective sense reasons to conclude trump is one of the, if not THE, greatest US presidents. To me they would make sense, some sense anyway, if Grammer was asked:

  • Kelsey you wholeheartedly support donald trump as president yet most historians say he is the worst president in US history, and Grammer replied:
  • The worst? I don't agree. I think president trump is a perfectly competent president. When he took office there were many things he wanted to get done. He's not there yet, but it is a big hill to climb. Plus trump is a president who means what he says. He's for the common man.

I wouldn't agree with him but at least it would seem reasonable, instead of unhinged. But isn't being unhinged the whole point? To be passive/aggressive. To insult other people's intelligence. To push people to extreme positions.

Exactly some of the reasons why historians regard trump as "the worst president ever."

A new survey of historians ranks Donald Trump the worst president in U.S. history. UPI article link
And this is from Feb 2024! He hasn't gotten better!

You know what's only a few miles from Spain? Africa!
You know where Somalia is?
Africa!
QED! Spain = Somalia!
They even both start with S!

Wasn't sure where to put this but one of Trump's loyal congressional reps died.

His was one of the districts that will likely be made blue due to the counter-gerrymandering but some noted that he was rapidly losing support in his region. As an example when DOGE and the BBB killed public radio he told people that they didn't have to worry about public emergency announcements since they could just stream them.

Keep in mind most of his district barely has cell phone coverage and many have to resort to satellite phones.

How the ◊◊◊◊ would Kelsey Grammer have any clue at all what "the common man" wants or needs?

Damn, that's the wildly racist NE corner. Rural as hell.

I'll have to update myself on the current demographics.

Eta: Meh, best I found quickly is they've been R+12 for quite a while.
I really despise those squirrelly looking gerrymandered maps... how bad is this new one going to look? 😡
