Cont: The thread for stupidity from GQP politicians who don't have their own thread Part II

The Roman Catholic church openly lies about its own doctrine? I find that hard to believe.

Now, if you're talking about evangelical Protestantism, you'd be onto something. The church I attended held that all other churches were literally Satanic. The Pope was the Antichrist and you should never let a Mormon bless your house because a Mormon blessing is actually a demonic curse.
The rcc lies about everything.

Is Matt Gaetz still considered relevant?

Come to think of it, is Tucker Carlson still considered relevant...

So could this podcast be retitled "Two Nonentities Talking Crap about Nothing"?
Matt Gaetz and Tucker Carlson are both fundamentally weird in a way I can't quite put my finger on. Ben Shapiro gives similar weird vibes.

Kristi Noem: "It's amazing what President Trump has done. 2.5 million people have left our country because of his leadership."...
I thought of this post, and Noem's quote, when reading a recent article in The New Yorker. One of those 2.5 million people who left is a woman from an American military family who served an enlistment in the US Armed Forces, including a tour in Iraq. Afterwards she spent time working as a civilian contractor in Afghanistan as a communications specialist. Now? She and her husband are in The Netherlands where they plan to become permanent residents and citizens. Why?

The more news stories she read about Trump’s second term, the more she foresaw a time when ordinary Americans would be stripped of their civil rights and live under martial law. That didn’t look like much of a future. The New Yorker Dec. 8 2025 - No link, article paywalled.

Yes, hooray for brain drain and manpower shortages. Are you a red-blooded American young man or woman? Better start working out so you can help out on the farms next fall! It's hard work and long days!

It is a conundrum how the US managed to become a global economic and political superpower before the recent mass immigration. Americans are so stupid, after all. This requires vigorous study at taxpayer expense.

I wonder if she is so stupid as to think these are 2.5 million "undesirables" being deported.

It would more likely be 2.4 million Americans becoming thoroughly fed up with living in Trumpistan and emigrating voluntarily for a better life in a modern country ... plus one hundred thousand ICE victims.

You're making the assumption that that number is anything other than one she pulled from where the sun don't shine!

In their world I would think anyone who leaves is disloyal and thus retroactively undesirable.

Kristi Noem is so stupid she thinks habeas corpus means the president has a constitutional right to remove people from this country. It would be extraordinarily difficult to overestimate her stupidity.
Noem was appointed Secretary of Homeland Security by trump despite having no legal background or law enforcement experience. None. Noem has a Bachelor's degree from South Dakota State University but it's in in political science. She received the degree in 2012 while she was already serving as a member of Congress, representing South Dakota. The reasons why trump selected her are obvious. Noem appeals to trump's maga base and can be expected to be unquestionably obedient to trump, whom she has referred to as the "greatest president ever."

Noem launched her political career in 2006 at age 34, winning election to South Dakota's House of Representatives. Prior to that she had run her family's farm and ranch, successfully adding a hunting lodge and restaurant to the property.

She's obviously had a little work done between photos.

It's referred to as the "Mar-A-Lago face."

Beauty trends have always been a reflection of the times, and right now, there’s a new look making waves in the upper echelons of Palm Beach, political circles, and social media feeds. It’s called the Mar-a-Lago Face, and it’s not just a cosmetic trend—it’s a cultural statement, a status symbol, and a visual shorthand for a certain kind of wealth, power, and allegiance. From frozen foreheads to overly sculpted cheekbones, this look is as much about what it says as how it looks. Yahoo News article link

She looked a lot better in 2013. But then again middle aged w9men trying to do tbemselves up like they were still 17 is never nice looking.
There's a hint of madness about the eyes in the 2013 photo, but in the more recent one she's getting perilously close to the uncanny valley.

It's a science fiction scenario! The ruling class will physically alter themselves so they can be easily distinguished from the other castes. Looks like in this case they're going for the insectoid look. Five bucks says those ladies can turn their heads at least 135 degrees to either side.
