Just to throw out the other side, it is possible that the guy that was shot walked in to Cheney's firing lane. In which case, Cheney' may, or may not, have had time to stop firing. *shrug* Doubt we'll ever get that level of information released.

They were shooting from a car, which is the worst kind of "hunting" you could do. Its actually illegal in texas except for on private land, which they were on.

They were not shooting from a car. They had a car nearby. You do realize that the veep keeps a security detail at hand, right?

Well I was rather ambivilent. He was afterall shooting at a high ranking republican and a lawyer. But, in typcial Cheney fashion he can't do anything right and failed to either kill him or shoot him in the manhood so he can't breed anymore.

Hey, give the veep a break. I mean, it's not like he was the beneficiary of the kind of weapons training one would receive in, say, the armed services.
 
Fox News was reporting that White House reporters were pissed off they were not informed right away. Now I am not sure where these reporters fit in the chain, but it seemed a bit arrogant to me.

I think there is a legitimate issue there, though as is customary, the White House press corps and many pundits are going overboard. In my opinion, one should first get a nod from the victim before subjecting him to the press frenzy while he was in the hospital. I would be very pissed if that had happened to my dad, for instance, without his approval.
