Tricky
Briefly immortal
At the very least, he should lose his hunting license.
What's a little #8 between friends, anyways?
So, two guys are out hunting, and one accidentally falls and his gun goes off. He lies still and the other hunter sees blood, and in a panic he yanks out his cell phone and dials 911.
"911. What is your emergency?"
"My buddy just fell on his gun and I think he's dead!"
"Okay, stay calm. The first thing to do is make sure he's really dead."
BLAM
"Okay, I made sure he's dead."
Maybe he "mistook" the lawyer for a vulture?I wonder what gauge the shot was... Anyways, seems it wasn't heavy enough to take down a lawyer. They're tough - need a second round just to be sure, it appears.
Heh. He was probably using a 20 or even a 28-gauge weapon with a wide choke and a relatively small shot size. That's the way it is these days with canned hunts1.I wonder what gauge the shot was... Nah, it is illegal to shoot vultures.Maybe he "mistook" the lawyer for a vulture?
For quail, probably #8. Another question is steel or lead? US law requires steel when hunting any migratory waterfowl, but I don't know what the law is regarding quail hunting in Texas.I wonder what gauge the shot was... 28 gauge is kind of small "caliber." The distance was 30 yards. I'm going to guess lead....
Katharine Armstrong, the ranch's owner, said Sunday that Cheney was using a 28-gauge shotgun and that Whittington was about 30 yards away when he was hit in the cheek, neck and chest.
...
"He is very, very lucky that nothing seriously was injured," Sally Whittington said in a story in Sunday's online edition of The Dallas Morning News. She said her father was being observed because of swelling from some of the welts on his neck.
"It looks like chicken pox, kind of," she said of her father's face.
...
"It broke the skin," she said of the shotgun pellets. "It knocked him silly. But he was fine. He was talking. His eyes were open. It didn't get in his eyes or anything like that.
