General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

Considering what working in retail can be like these days, some might respond 'used to'?
It moved to some spiffy looking office blocks just outside the centre of Reading with the word "Oracle" written on the side in big letters. On the positive side, the pay is a bit better. On the negative side, you have to answer to Larry Ellison.

I worked in the building next door, between them and Microsoft.

What a surprise

Houchen’s £200mn vanity project collapses, leaving Middlesbrough to pick up the pieces
Imposed against the council’s will, Lord Houchen’s MDC has collapsed, leaving wasted millions and unanswered questions

Andy, you aren't suggesting that "Lord" Ben is something of a grifter, are you?

I'm shocked! Shocked, I tell you!

(For those who are not regular readers of Private Eye, the answer is that it would very much seem that a load of grifting and the like is going on in Smoggy Land.)

It's not quite right though, the millions haven't been wasted, they went to his lordship and his cronies.

What happens to the land now though?
Do MDC sell it and get to keep the money?
Does it go back to the Council or is it going to be another airport/Teesworks scenario with the usual suspects involved?
I suspect I already know that answer.

Starmer is finished again!

Nigel Farage MP
@Nigel_Farage
The Horizon scandal is getting worse for Keir Starmer as it emerges that at least 27 cases against subpostmasters were brought by the CPS.

As the scandal grew, and hundreds of innocent people were convicted, he did nothing. Time for some answers
