General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

Inevitable

The UK Government is unlikely to see most of the £148m it is owed by a faulty PPE supplier linked to Baroness Michelle Mone after the company was wound up.

PPE Medpro, a consortium run by Mone's husband Douglas Barrowman, was placed into liquidation at the Insolvency and Companies Court on Thursday.

...snip...
I am shocked!

Saw Badenoch's grand plan to extend the production of ICE cars and I have to wonder how much the Tories are getting from the oil companies, because they certainly aren't doing it for drivers, which is a roundabout way of saying I just replace my old petrol car with an EV and its both nicer to drive and cheaper to run. I think she is trying to appeal to the sort of voter who thinks, using the term loosely, that EVs cost the earth and will struggle to reach the end of their road before they need a recharge, probably the same people who think immigrants are stealing wild geese to eat for Xmas

On one hand people are gathering in London to ‘put Christ back into Christmas’. But on the other we should be mad at a christian charity giving asylum seekers a Christmas dinner.

You might want to cross the @salvationarmyuk off your Christmas gift list. They are feeding illegal migrants from the Wethersfield camp, I thought they got 3 meals a day.

Great work from @bb_media_uk again.

Good job there isn't something like I don't know call it a "bird flu" that is killing wild birds throughout the nation, that could have meant there wouldn't be geese for "them" to grab for their Christmas feasts - they'll probably be eating them in front of a colour flat screen TV whilst the head of the CofE is being broadcast to the nation.
I think there are still people who genuinely believe smartphones and flat screen TVs are wild luxuries rather than just ordinary items anyone would be expected to have these days.

Today's Gammon outrage

The Salvation Army

A selection, Full of Christian charity and the Christmas spirit.

Oh dear @salvationarmyuk not what those who donate expect. We are already funding hotels & meals ( or vouchers to buy food) fir these illegals, so why are you using fixation to feed them on top of what they already get??
Very disappointing

When I cleared my Parent's house,Sally army were very snooty about the first collections of very good or new linens.
"We collect only furniture"

I’ve donated to their last two Christmas appeals as I believed in their work. If they’re feeding illegal migrants I will not be donating again - I don’t want my money used in this way

I'm really disappointed with the @SalvArmyIHQ as I give each Christmas to feed our homeless on the streets. I do not give so they can feed these chancers. Forget it this year!

My 89 year old mother was telling me about this, and she is absolutely gutted, she gives a lot of money to this charity each year and says all of the marketing material shows homeless people. She will no longer be donating.

It will be interesting to see how many homeless actually have the means to contact the Salvation Army to 'book in'.

Thanks for pointing this out - will not be giving them a donation today

Well looks like im not donating my clothes to their clothes bank

In some people the milk of human kindness just curdles into the yogurt of human bitterness, gammon flavoured.

For people so keen Christianity they do seem to have rather missed some of the important bits.

"Ere this Joseph bloke, as entered the Kingdom of Egypt illegally after coming up the Way of the Sea in a caravan with his missus and kid and now he's claiming asylum because, get this, an angel done come to im in a dream and told im King 'Erod's gonna off the kid."

"Bugger that, e's just after a free stable to sleep in and a manger on the tax payers expense, anyway, Judea's a safe country. Sod the Egyption Court of Human Rights, just send em back"

For the car parks at one of the local shopping malls, you can either register your car online and pay automatically by use of ANPR, or pay via the use of a smartphone when you're there. There are no other options.

Well of course we understand that, but the Gammons are still living in the 1970s , well the more modern ones anyway.

Via an app specific to the car park? Would that mean a dowload while you're there if you don't have it? I fear car parks for this reason ;)
