I was wondering if they will suggest bringing back workhouses. Now I think its just a matter of time.
 
I'm about a minute's walk away from the former Willesden workhouse, which became the Central Middlesex Hospital when the NHS was created. The original Victorian institution's buildings were only demolished and rebuild about 20 years ago.
 
I worked in a chunk of the old Newcastle Workhouse, which became Newcastle General, for my second to last student placement, then in the old superintendent's house on the same site as a staff nurse and charge nurse. All gone now.

I normally assume more maliciousness to them.
The ones at the top know how the HoC works but it's an easy and performative "Look!! We're being repressed" statement for the masses to get angry about in the 'Spoons
 
There's more of the Guisborough one behind that facade, it's built round a courtyard.
Luckily it's all listed and just about the only bit of central Guisborough that doesn't belong to Lord Guisborough.

The Oracle shopping centre in Reading takes its name from the workhouse that used to be on the site.

There are a lot of Gammons who are so upset about young boys being taught about misogyny, that they’re immediately resorting to (you guessed it!), misogyny.

He went to jail not for anti-immigration tweets but for incitement to murder tweets. Just like you are doing now, Matt.

It’s not 11-year-old boys who are committing violence against women and girls.

We need to get people who have come from cultures that don’t respect women out of our country! Not all cultures are equally valid.

Labour’s plan to lecture schoolboys to respect women and girls is a complete distraction. This is what a government looks like when they’re completely out of ideas.

Deport all foreign criminals. Put more police on our streets. Conservatives have a funded plan to recruit 10,000 extra officers.

Pretending a few extra lessons in school will fix this is complete nonsense. Labour need to stop watching Adolesence and get real.

But they can’t, because they’re too scared, weak and divided. They have no serious plan to tackle this problem.

Only the @Conservatives do and that’s why we’ll build a stronger Britain.
 
Imagine if the men who abuse women today had grown up in a culture that respected women. Like, for example, if they'd grown up in the kind of culture where they'd been taught at age 11 about not bullying, intimidating and disrespecting girls.

The Conservatives can save your sons from that nonsense, apparently. The solution is instead to do nothing and wait until some of them commit crimes against women, and then be furiously angry that it's Labour's fault.
