No. It's because when oil is refined in the USA it still goes out to the world market, just as Conservative policies demand. But it's still Obama's fault.

No. It's because when oil is refined in the USA it still goes out to the world market, just as Conservative policies demand. But it's still Obama's fault.

In terms of the number of barrels of crude oil being imported into the United States, in 2012 that amount was 3,120,755,000 barrels. The last time the number of barrels of crude oil imported into the United States was that low was in 1997 when it was 3,002,299,000 barrels (in 1998 it was 3,177,584,000 barrels, which is slightly above the 2012 import figure).

The peak year for U.S. imports of crude oil was in 2005 when 3,695,971,000 barrels came into the country.
