CPAC 2014

It seems CPAC 2014 is nothing more then a Republican planning tool to elect a Democratic president in 2016. Here's another story

I think it's interesting that few of the loyal opposition is present in this thread defending those idiots.

I guess they are all trying to develop explanations how it's them who are the real Republicans and all those nuts at CPAC are um, satirists?

The foreign policy rants are pretty funny.
If we had a tough president who showed balls, Putin would not have invaded the Crimea.
Gee, guess they forgot 2008 where Putin invaded Georgia despite having a President who attakced two countries (one quite justifiably, the other not so much) in office.
Once his poll numbers started going down fast, most of the RWNJ's learned very quickly indeed to pretend that GWB had been a RINO all along :)

What is amusing is that if you look at many of his policies...the Anti Gay intiatives in particular....Putin should be the wacko Right's kind of guy.

What is lost to these fools is that the majority of handouts goes to white people.

Their biggest failing is calling things like food, housing and medical care "handouts" and "entitlements" instead of what they really are: basic provisions all governments should provide to all citizens.

And so long as they look at things that governments should be providing to people as a "handout" they will continue to fail with those that need them and do so spectacularly.

Well, when it's provided to white people, it is a basic provision. If the recipient isn't white, it's a "hand out." After all, the "welfare queen" happens to be black in many GOP minds.

The wackier wingnuts didn't even get invited. So they are holding an alternative conference across the street.
Hopping back across the street, apparently the Jews are the cause of the World's problems, and President Obama is sending subliminal messages of support to Al Qaida and the Muslim Brotherhood:

“If you understand anything about Islam, there are subliminal messages,” Boykin can be heard saying. “His message, really, I believe was, ‘I understand you, and I support you.’”
...
Though the panel’s video feed shut down, the audio continued broadcasting, enabling Boykin to be heard as he argued that, as a result of the “messages,” al-Qaeda and the Brotherhood saw that “that they have a president that identifies with them, that has been supportive of them inside the United States and is unwilling to go against them.”
...
“The Jews are the problem,” Boykin can be heard saying. “The Jews are the cause of all the problems in the world.” An unidentified person responds, “I know, I know, that’s why we’re trying to fix everything.”

It's curious too how it's not a hand out when it's to a business.

Good ol' boys can't imagine anyone not white owning a business.

I'm curious why Republicans think everyone getting food stamps sit around their house all day being lazy? Everyone I've ever known that got food stamps was working a job, sometimes two jobs.

Just as the aborted baby is always white.

It's apparently lost on them that minorities have working memories that include decades of being essentially called parasites which a little bit of lip service not only won't fix, but I would think is deeply insulting in that the GOP thinks that's all it would take.

.... I can't help but wonder if "outreach" suddenly has an alternate nebulous political definition.
Apparently so. The widely watched CPAC straw poll was won by Rand Paul by a huge margin. Yes, the same Rand Paul who expressed support for the rights of private businesses to discriminate based on race. Outreach, my ***.

After Frothy, Gov. Goodhair, Dr. Plagiarism and Pastor Libido, I wasn't sure they could top themselves today... and then 1/2 Gov. incorrectly appropriates Green Eggs and Ham.

And then tried to hold a conference on how to reach out to black folks, but the White Power people showed up and shouted everyone down.

This outreach is just awesome to behold.

What is far more telling, in my mind at least, while they disavow any racist group affinity, they make no definitive effort to drive them away and disavow them. The reason is embarrassingly obvious... they can't threaten a single possible vote, even if they have to hold their nose to take it. Things for them are apparently that dire.

What ever happened at the special outreach for the ladies symposium? Last thing on the last day.

I don't know how it went but the full program is up so we have a list of panelists:

Tammy Bruce, Deputy Editor, The Washington Times (Moderator)
Kate Obenshain, Author, Divider-in-Chief
Crystal Wright, Conservativeblackchick.com
Sabrina Schaeffer, Executive Director, Independent Women's Forum
The Honorable Marilinda Garcia, State Representative, New Hampshire House of Representatives

That's better than I was expecting, which was 1 or 2 token women at best. Still, I'm curious how popular the panel was.

The moderator, Tammy Bruce of the Washington Times, came out swinging. Democrats, she said, were infantilizing the country. That was why it was time for women to step in.

and

“When free contraception is being talked about,” Obenshain continued, “please, white men: stay behind, let the women get out there and talk about these issues. We love white men. Okay? We love older white men. It’s great, but–”
