Watching my dad’s life crumble since he joined forces with Trump has been extraordinarily painful, both on a personal level and because his demise feels linked to a dark force that threatens to once again consume America. Not to disregard individual accountability in the slightest, but it would be naive for us to ignore the fact that many of those closest to Trump have descended into catastrophic downward spirals. If we let Trump back into the driver’s seat this fall, our country will be no exception.

I wonder if Trump took the elementary step of asking Kemp first if that was true?

It was a lie — refuted by Kemp himself earlier that day.

“The president just called me yesterday afternoon. I missed him and I called him right back,” Kemp told reporters. “And he just said, ‘Hey, what do you need?’”

Most people tell the truth as a reflex, and have to think about how to lie. With Trump, it seems to be the exact opposite- lies are his reflex. I have to wonder, along with Sam Elliott (HuffPo article with his Lincoln Project ad endorsing Kamala Harris)- "“Are we really going back down that same ******* broken road?”

He could have a massive stroke and go into an unrecoverable coma, and his cult followers would still vote for him. And his handlers would keep him alive on a machine long after he flatlined.

There are tens of millions of people who think that the U.S. has to be destroyed so they can rebuild it in the way the wish. Donald Trump is The Destroyer. But if he destroys it, it won't be rebuilt. China and Russia will have their way with the U.S.'s corpse, and it will be Hell on Earth.

Hey, if he's actually bringing stuff to help people in trouble, all the more power to him. Something I completely support, but why he has to act like the Federal Government isn't in there doing as much as they can is beyond me. It's like he can't just do something for the sake of doing something good. A unifying message would have gone miles.

Then it came to me. He doesn’t mean criminals, he means people who look like criminals. And in his narrow, narrow mind, that mean people with dark skin. He wants to bring back lynching.

Well if it's one thing we know for sure it didn't come out of nowhere. My guess is someone investigating the confrontation or the picture reached out to the Trump campaign. This was his way of just letting everyone know he did nothing wrong while at the same time throwing a gold star family under the bus.
