I'm voting Ralph Nader. If you don't Know who he is Look up his name in the dictionary. If you don't know of his accomplishments look in the the World Book Encyclopedia. He appears in both 20 years ago. You won't find the other two candidates there. The only text that I have that doesn't have him is school text book on U.S. History, its funny that it does mentions all the things he did but does not mention his name. Its as if our government is taking credit for improvements they were forced to make because of Nader.

I looked in the dictionary and didn't see Ralph Nader there. I did see "Nadir - the lowest point in the fortunes of a person". Seems right.

Probably Bob Barr, maybe write-in Ron Paul, I haven't quite decided yet.

I know, most people think I'll waste my vote, but in my opinion, the only wasted vote is the one cast for someone other than the person you most support. Add to that the fact that my vote won't make a difference (in all except the most odd of circumstances) in the outcome anyway, why would I waste my time going to fill in little dots on a piece of paper unless I'm filling them in for someone I truly support?

Somewhat paradoxically, I think the more people who realize their vote won't make a difference and vote accordingly, the more their vote actually will make a difference.

edit: For the record, between the two who could get elected, I prefer McCain over Obama. In the same way I prefer being shot in one kneecap over both. Plus, since Congress will almost certainly remain in Dumb-o-crat hands, a Republican't presidency would ensure a nice amount of gridlock. Likely not as much as I'd like, but surely more than the Obomination would bring.

:eye-poppi Nasty combination!

Keep in mind it's not the kind of rage or despair that causes us to take to the streets or riot. Mostly we just sit around, talking about how much thing suck while watching our wall-sized televisions and complaining about how much it cost to fill up the SUV.

If we ever actually had cause to get outraged about life in America, I'm not sure how we'd handle it.

I voted/voting for Obama. I'm impressed by the fact that he was a professor of Constitutional law. After eight years, I think we need someone who has actually read the Constitution.

BS. I also read the Constitution and believe me, virtually no
one at JREF would nominate me for POTUS... :D

Anyway - I would go for Obama since Paul gave up.

There's a difference between reading the Constitution and comprehending it.

Obama may have done the former, but it's pretty clear he hasn't come close to the latter.

Something tells me he is more capable of comprehending the Constitution than our current president.

If so, then at least Bush's transgressions can be pegged to stupidity. Obama's violations would then have to be attributed to malevolence.

What in FSM's name are you on about? In what way has Obama "violated" the Constitution?
Well, if you want to get specific, I suppose there's stuff in his Senate voting record that would show his distaste for the rule of the Constitution, but I was referring to things he would do in office.

I thought from the context it was fairly evident we were speaking in the future tense with respect to an Obama presidency.

Apparently some people didn't catch that.

Past, future, whatever. What in FSM's name are you on about?

I see that Obama has a convincing lead in this jref poll, but not single member in this site that support him have answered any questions in my "questions for Obama thread" How is it one can take the time to change their avatars into a obama campaign sign, litter mt nader thread, but not take the time to explain why he is so great. As far as I can see has no barrack has no game plan Nader does .

Read the thread.

Can you admit you know absolutely nothing about this campaign or the Constitution, and just copied and pasted a Libertarian talking point?

Nevermind. I'd rather put you on ignore than hear the same rubber stamp Libertarian spin yet again.
