Trump's Second Term

If it is so easy to make Americans believe that the bombing was a Total Success despite all evidence ... why do the bombing at all, with all the risks and costs that involves?
Next time, just lie right from the Start and keep them money!

Oh, it's a 1960's design. And I wasn't suggesting it be reborn or anything. Just noting that it did have nuclear capability.

The old WE.177 nuclear bomb could be carried by any aircraft but it doesn't make it a serious nuclear strike aircraft in any but the most desperate circumstances.
Not to disparage the Jaguar, it was a great aircraft.

Our Was helicopter could carry a nuclear depth charge, we even had a 'special weapons' magazine with it's own little lift to the flight deck but it would be a desperate situation for the pilot.

Trump's new phone is shrinking as fast as his penis.

Trump phone ditches 'made in America' claim and shrinks in size

Just days after launch, the Trump-branded smartphone is already shifting its promises – and ditching its “Made in America” claim.

According to a new report in The Verge, the T1 Phone 8002 “gold version,” sold through the recently launched Trump Mobile wireless carrier, no longer advertises itself as “Made in the USA.” That claim, once prominently featured on its webpage, has been scrubbed entirely.

“Instead, the Trump Mobile website now includes what can only be described as vague, pro-American gestures in the direction of smartphone manufacturing,” The Verge reported Wednesday. “The T1’s new tagline is “Premium Performance. Proudly American.’”

The website now says only that the device is “designed with American values in mind.”

That’s not the only change, The Verge report added.

“It was originally advertised to have a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen, but now the T1’s site says it’s 6.25 inches,” according to the tech publication. “The site used to list the phone as having 12GB of RAM, and now doesn’t list RAM at all.”

re: The Bunker Buster(s)
It doesn't have to have destroyed the facilities. The POSOTUS only has to claim they did. Iran can say they didn't (or won't admit their existence at all), and TACO Don will say they're lying, knowing Iran is not likely to show video of their deep facilities still intact.

Raging "kill the messenger" threats against anyone who reports there's some doubt the bombing was 100% effective just makes the regime look complacent.

Lauding one successful bombing raid as the most complex and successful military operation in history just makes them look like empty-headed braggards.
Only to people who consider that kind of thing - very much a minority in today's USA

Something a bit more advanced is in order. The Blackburn Roc, surely.

A good idea when it was first conceived, fighters were not much faster than the bombers and only had 2 machine guns. Overtaken by development and actual experience.
It's brother the Skua was a very good diver bomber.

No men in womens sports. erm what?

Leavitt: "We also talked about the mayoral race in NYC & how the victory of the Democratic primary candidate really shows how far left & unhinged the Democratic Party has become. Republicans truly are on the right side of every issue in this country. We are on the side of no men in women's sports."

I would say the hyperbole Trump and his minions are using regarding the raid just undermines their credibility. If they said it achieved its goals or was a complete success, that would be fine. Instead their claiming it to be the biggest and best raid in history(and BTW the Doolittle Raid and the Dambusters were way more daring and impactful) just makes it sound like they are trying way to hard to convince everyone.

5% NATO spending is, actually, stupid. If actually implemented, Europe would soon have a bigger and better military than the US.
The problem Europe has is a lack of troops - without them, it kinda doesn't matter what expensive toys you buy for them.
But isn't the reason why most European countries have a lack of troops is that they don't want to spend the money for more troops? Germany has a population of over 80,000,000 but only has around 180,000 troops. I think that there is enough (wo)manpower available to increase that numbe tr if Germany was willing to spend the money.

As for planning and secrecy. In addition to June being D-Day, an equally large and complex operation took place in the Pacific a few days later.

The Marianas campaign started, a fleet of over 600 ships and 120, 000 Marines. It included the Battle of the Philippine Sea (The Marianas Turkey Shoot) when the Japanese lost just about all their carrier aircraft and their carriers (again)
