Trump's Second Term

From the look of the explosion, I doubt it was the fault of the clustertruck. To me this looks like some sort of planned attack. Carrying around a large amount of flammable liquids and fireworks and then parking right in front of the doors to the hotel just makes it looks like a deliberate action to me. Far to early to know for certain though.

I'm not sure if its been mentioned but the truck was rented through the same car share app that the F150 in New Orleans was rented through. I wonder if there's a connection? Time will tell.

Copycat, maybe.

Looks like there was a primary explosion caused by a device and the secondary smaller explosions were a result of the Cyber truck's battery being damaged by the first explosion. Not a very large scale primary device, obviously not a professional unless this was designed to do minimum casualty damage. Minimal damage doesn't seem to fit with a terror attack.

That's not very explosive then.
Naphtha is plenty explosive. It's a pure hydrocarbon distillate distinguished from gasoline largely by the absence of additives, which allow it to burn cleaner and to be less toxic. The other quality that makes it the fuel of choice for fire eaters is, in a way, the same quality that makes it explosive: it burns very fast.

Tell me you've never stayed at a Trump property without telling me.
It’s a hotel with “TRUMP” on the facade and probably 2/3 of all surfaces inside. That ipso facto makes it a dive.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Well, except for the name Trump. The same flower instead called a Trump would smell like a two-weeks-dead, beached whale’s stomach lining.

Yes, the person in the truck.

So if you've seen that video of the explosion, congratulations. You just watched someone die.
No. Did you see anybody in the truck? Actually see?
It was the first thing I looked for: somebody in the truck.
And there didn't appear to be anybody. It seemed to be empty.

Copycat, maybe.
The New Orleans mass murderer may have been a copycat - 2024 Magdeburg car attack (Wiki) - but the Las Vegas case is different in every way except for how the truck was rented.
Matthew Livelsburger from Colorado Springs. It doesn't sound like the name of a typical Islamic fundamentalist. It sounds more like a disgruntled MAGA fundamentalist.

ETA: See also: Vehicle-ramming attack (Wikipedia).
In Germany, it has almost become a Christmas tradition:
Christmas markets have previously been targeted by vehicle-ramming attacks, such as the 2016 attack in Berlin. That attack, perpetrated by the Islamic State, killed 12 people and injured 56 others. Minister of the interior and community Nancy Faeser said in November 2024 that there were no "concrete" threats to Christmas markets, but that it was wise to maintain vigilance.

Anybody on LinkedIn? Matthew Livelsburger I'm not sure it's him, but he seems to be the right age, 37.

ETA: Probably not. Maryland, not Colorado Springs. It would have added a bit of color to the story if the perp was a disgruntled techbro.
More Matthew Livelsburgers, but also not in Colorado Springs.

Elon says

The evil knuckleheads picked the wrong vehicle for a terrorist attack. Cybertruck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards.

Not even the glass doors of the lobby were broken
Of course all his fanboys are agreeing.
Apparently the US Army should switch to the Cybertruck in place of the Humvee.

Elon is a genius, his truck thwarted a terrorist attack.
