Trump's Second Term

He still thinks 'stealth' means invisible aircraft.

Trump: "We have planes that are undetectable flying around. Nobody's able to see them. Stealth."

The Iranians claim to have shot down some. They claim four but that is probably an exaggeration. They do have Russian missile defence that is capable of doing so but the hit rate would be very low.

You lazy bastards have too many holidays and you don't even want them

Donald is going to do something about it.
Well ◊◊◊◊, Donald, think how much money we're "losing" by having weekends. What's with this five day work week? Since the entire universe depends on maximizing profits above all other concerns, why have any time off at all?

As of the close of the day on June 19, my positive/negative score on the Trump administration stands at -836.

18 June 2025

-1: Trump rails against offices and businesses being closed on Juneteenth. [313]
-1: Karolyn Leavitt says Iran is very close to producing a nuclear weapon (US intelligence says it’s not) [314]

References

313. “Too many non-working holidays in America. It is costing our Country $BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep all of these businesses closed. The workers don’t want it either! Soon we’ll end up having a holiday for every once working day of the year. It must change if we are going to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

313. Q: When the president says Iran is very close to a nuclear weapon, is he relying on US intelligence or intelligence sharing from an ally?
LEAVITT: It is a fact and the US govt maintains this fact that Iran has never been closer to a nuclear weapon

17 June 2025
-1: Headline: Brad Lander, NYC comptroller and mayoral candidate, is arrested at immigration court (AP News)
-1: Trump demands Iran’s “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” (on nuclear weapons) in a two word post to Truth Social
-1: Trump still thinks ‘stealth’ means invisible aircraft. [311]
-1: Trump again reveals his ignorance of wildfires [312]
-1: Pete Hegseth dances around the idea US Army personnel are not allowed to arrest civilians [313]
0: Trump installs two large flag poles at the White House (north and south lawns) [314]

References

311. Trump: “We have planes that are undetectable flying around. Nobody’s able to see them. Stealth.”

312. Q: Could your recent dust-ups with Newsom impact wildfire relief?
TRUMP: Sure, maybe. He shouldn’t have fires like that. You clean the floor of your forest and you won’t have any forest fires.

313: SLOTKIN: Does the uniformed military have the ability to arrest and detain protesters?
HEGSETH: Um. I --
S: It’s a yes or no thing.
H: These troops are given very clear orders.
S: What are the orders?
H: All of these orders and what they are sent to do it public.
S: So say it -- yes or no.
H: They are there to protect law enforcement, ICE officers

314: Trump: “It is my Great Honor to announce that I will be putting up two beautiful Flag Poles on both sides of the White House, North and South Lawns. It is a GIFT from me of something which was always missing from this magnificent place. The digging and placement of the poles will begin at 7:30 A.M. EST, tomorrow morning. Flags will be raised at approximately 11 A.M. EST. These are the most magnificent poles made – They are tall, tapered, rust proof, rope inside the pole, and of the highest quality. Hopefully, they will proudly stand at both sides of the White House for many years to come!”

It's not so much that he believes his own lies, it's that he is utterly convinced that he is such a perfect human being that nothing but truth can come from his mouth.
I think he just doesn't care, and can't be bothered to find out, whether what he says is true or not. He just says whatever he thinks will benefit him at the time.
If something someone else says contradicts what he says, then they are the liar. They have to be.
This, definitely. He can't stand being contradicted.

Yeah, there's certainly something screwy about it saying Khomeinei instead of Khamenei
Personally, I'd suggest either a typo or that Gabbard screwed up. Either way, that Gabbard reported to Congress in March that Iran was not going for nuclear weapons seems to be true enough.

Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, told lawmakers in March that U.S. spy agencies assessed that Iran had not made a decision to build nuclear weapons but that it had stockpiles of enriched uranium far beyond what is required for civilian purposes. The U.S. intelligence community’s view has not changed since her testimony, the source with knowledge of the matter said.

Warner said Wednesday that he received further confirmation of the March intelligence assessment “this week.”

Trump, of course, cares so much about that.

On Tuesday, Trump publicly dismissed Gabbard’s testimony, saying, “I don’t care what she said.”

As Leavitt explained, "Trust in President Trump. President Trump has incredible instincts". It doesn't matter what the actual intelligence assessment is, Trump's incredible instinct literally warps reality to become whatever he decided it should be.

I'm not saying the Dear Leader has magical powers... but... if he were the chosen one born on the 4th of July on top of sacred Mount Rushmore in a thunderstorm and then concealed that information out of modesty, well, you might well expect great things. I'm not saying that's real. But people are saying. And it makes you think. Okay, maybe not think. But still.

yeah we hate paid days off.

i end up working holidays anyway, just the nature of 24/7 production and maintenance. but i get paid double. i also hate that. please take that away. and keep taxing overtime too. the debt must be repaid by the workers, not the rich who took all the money the government borrowed.

You are really telling me that Gabbard is not a mindless loyalist, but actually brings forward intelligence estimates that are contrary to her master’s wishes?

I have just gained a little more respect for her!

That was the facts as they were in March, those facts have now been supplanted by the new facts that in March they were as near to having a bomb as they ever were (which I believe is slightly ahead of the Isle of Wight's nuclear weapon program).
