The Truth about RFK Jr

The New York Times reported, "Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. delivered a defiant defense on Wednesday of his drastic overhaul of federal health agencies, insisting to members of Congress that he had “not fired any working scientists” and was “not withholding money for lifesaving research" despite evidence to the contrary." If one cancels grants, one is laying off postdoctoral students, graduate students, and technicians. Untenured professors might be denied tenure based on perceived lack of productivity.

“I’m told that there was a 20-to-1 research ratio for genetic causes over the past 20 years,” he said, adding: “I believe that was because they did not want to look at the environmental exposure because they were scared. So I don’t think we should be funding that genetic work anymore.”

Work isn't work if it isn't work for me. It's not enough that he's too addled to do the job, he can't even keep track of what he's saying.

Also from the hearing: "RFK Jr.'s response took Pocan aback. "If I answer that question directly, it will seem like I'm giving advice to other people, and I don't want to be doing that," the health secretary responded. "I want people to make that [decision] on their own.""

If he does not want people taking advice from him, then why did he talk about cod liver oil and Vitamin A? As for making decisions, people can only make good decisions if they have correct information.
It's the standard woo peddler disclaimer con artists like him use to try and preempt lawsuits from victims of their "medical" "advice".

"Walter Orenstein, MD, former director of the National Immunization Program (now the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases) at the CDC" was interviewed in an article at MedPageToday. The article stated, "The existence of the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program acknowledges that there can be real side effects of vaccines, Orenstein added. The program was developed after a major increase in lawsuits against manufacturers -- oftentimes frivolous -- which led to vaccine shortages in the 1980s. "When someone is vaccinated, they're not only helping themselves, but also helping their community," Orenstein said. "Society owes an obligation to someone who is actually injured" by a vaccine." I seem to recall rumors that this system would change with RFK Jr in charge, but I don't have a citation handy.

The New Republic reported, "“I think the cuts that are now proposed by NIH are gonna hurt,” he responded. It was a feeble (and obvious) admission given that minutes earlier he said he actually has no idea how many people were fired."

I honestly hope his grandchildren die.
He won’t learn anything, but the positive effect of people dying because they are exposed to such non-thinking outweighs his grandkids dying
He has already had a red hot go at killing his own kids a few times. He is so out of touch with reality that it clearly has not ever dawned on him that he endangers and hurts other people with his decisions.

I am not a shrink nor do i look like any I know. But that could be some sort of antisocial disaffection disorder, or even schizophrenia. Either should be disqualification from holding great public office, really.

MedPageToday reported, "One of those [contentious] moments came when Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) accused Kennedy of deception during his confirmation hearing, when Kennedy said he wouldn't cut funds appropriated by Congress for vaccination programs. "That's not the truth.... You've done the opposite. You cancelled $12 billion in grants to the states, including my state, that are used to administer and track vaccines." Kennedy replied, "When did I do that?""

"Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) asked Kennedy about the budget reconciliation billopens in a new tab or window now under discussion, which would cut Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act by more than $715 billion and could eliminate health insurance for 13.7 million people. "Is throwing Americans off of the healthcare they have -- for poor and working-class people -- keeping America healthy?" Kennedy said he hadn't seen that number, but thought it was more like 8 million people. He said the cuts "are not true cuts" but merely "eliminate waste, abuse, or fraud."

I honestly hope his grandchildren die.
Wow. You wish innocent children to die just to prove a political/ideological point?
That’s ◊◊◊◊◊◊ up.
He won’t learn anything, but the positive effect of people dying because they are exposed to such non-thinking outweighs his grandkids dying
No. No it doesn’t.

A good way to eliminate waste, abuse and fraud would be to drop this ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ from a helicopter 10,000 feet over the middle of the ocean. But we're not advocating violence, we'd give him a parachute. If he's really as healthy as he thinks he is, he can swim back.

In Mid-February of this year Jonathan Howard wrote, "Remembering why so many people failed to protect themselves against a deadly virus is valuable it its own right, and Dr. Mandrola certainly won’t remind you of what he said in 2020. In fact, many doctors who spread COVID misinformation act as if it's in poor taste to bring it up today. In their view, 2020 was ancient history, and they deserve a do-over. However, we don’t need their permission. We are allowed to remember their track record and to take it into account when judging their 2025 commentary. The same biases and indifference to facts that led them to mislead people about COVID haven’t vanished. To guard against current risks, it’s vital to remember who spread misinformation and the techniques they used to falsely pacify people. Unsurprisingly, the same doctors who made things up to numb people in 2020 are making things up to numb people today. It’s all repeating itself, and it’s likely to get much worse."

That’s ◊◊◊◊◊◊ up.

Kind of seems like RFK wants his innocent grandchildren to die just to prove a political/ideological point, doesn't it? He's the one forcing them to swim a sewage laden river for no other reason than to "prove" their systems can handle it.
No. No it doesn’t.

It appears that RFK, at least, disagrees with you.

it's good to be the bigger person, but rfk jr doesn't care if your grandkids live or die either. and that's his job vs somebody blowing off some steam on the internet

MedPageToday wrote, "HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. plans to remove CDC recommendations for COVID-19 vaccination in pregnant women and children. Come the fall, it may just be older adults and people with comorbidities who are urged to get a COVID shot. (Wall Street Journal via MSN, New York Times)

In the coming days, the FDA plans to release a new framework for vaccine approvals that will largely focus on COVID vaccines, said Commissioner Marty Makary, MD, PhD. (Washington Post)...Florida became the the second state to prohibit local governments from adding fluoride to their water systems. (AP)...House lawmakers are looking into allegations that clinical testing related to Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine was purposefully delayed until after the 2020 presidential election. (CNN)"
