The Truth about RFK Jr

At SBM Jonathan Howard wrote, "Dr. Marty Makary, for example, spent the past 4 years making common causes with such cranks and encouraging their mistrust of the Medical Establishment. In one particularly noxious speech, seated next to his fellow misinformation superspreader Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Dr. Makary said, “that the greatest perpetrator of misinformation during the pandemic has been the United States government.” He was upset that his predecessors didn’t join him in glorifying “natural immunity” and treating vaccine side-effects as a fate worse than death."

Kind of seems like RFK wants his innocent grandchildren to die just to prove a political/ideological point, doesn't it? He's the one forcing them to swim a sewage laden river for no other reason than to "prove" their systems can handle it.
There’s a difference between being an idiot like RFK Jr and saying you wish for innocent children to die to teach him a lesson.
It appears that RFK, at least, disagrees with you.
No. Only you and autumn1971 seem to think killing children to prove a point is not disgusting.

Should I start selling homeopathic clutchin' pearls? It's the internet, no need to get all hangwringy over talk.

I honestly hope his grandchildren die.
He won’t learn anything, but the positive effect of people dying because they are exposed to such non-thinking outweighs his grandkids dying
No. Just no.
But I wouldn't mind if they get sick enough to scare their parents into preventing him from ever seeing them again.

Of course if we're not the same kind of ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ RFK is, we wouldn't do what he does, but I think a useful component of thinking right and doing right is understanding, at least at some level, the urge to do wrong. People often say, rather tritely I think, that good requires evil. I don't think it requires the evil to exist on the hoof, but it requires it to be conceivable.

Okay, I don’t wish his grandkids harm; but every republican appointed or elected at the state or federal level is actively trying to kill my son whose insulin is now expensive enough that he may die.
◊◊◊◊ them, and I might not wish harm on their kids, but they want to murder mine, so I have exactly zero ◊◊◊◊◊ to give for these fascist ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ and their children. Nits make lice

A good way to eliminate waste, abuse and fraud would be to drop this ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ from a helicopter 10,000 feet over the middle of the ocean. But we're not advocating violence, we'd give him a parachute.

The proper trial methodology is 'play the winner' not randomisation. Essentially you start with whichever intervention you think it best, you continue using this intervention until you have a negative outcome then you switch to the alternate intervention until you have a negative outcome when you switch back.

At SBM Jonathan Howard wrote, "Dr. [Vinay] Prasad’s goal was to promote the absurd myth that routine vaccines were in competition with the COVID vaccine. His singular passion for the past 4 years has been to repeatedly infect unvaccinated children with SARS-CoV-2, even if that required him to fake a concern about routine vaccines for a brief period in 2022."

New peer-reviewed research suggests COVID vaccines worsen fertility and mRNA jabs specifically can produce spike protein for up to eight months.

Yet another peer-reviewed study this year, published in the Endocrine Society's Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, found the risk of underactive thyroid "significantly increased from 6 to 12 months" after vaccination, and that both under- and overactive thyroid was "significantly elevated at 12 months" for mRNA vaccine recipients specifically. I'm sure the all-vaccines-are-totally-safe-and-the-government-would-never-lie-to-us-about-vaccine-safety crowd will find some lame excuse to reject these peer-reviewed studies published in reputable scientific-medical journals.

For the sake of newcomers, most so-called "anti-vaxxers" actually do not oppose vaccination in principle but simply want better testing procedures for vaccines and full disclosure about vaccine side effects.

This is weird!
(Well, almost everything about RFK Jr. is weird, but this goes against the RFK Jr. weirdness we have become used to.)
Secretary Kennedy promises to support Long COVID treatment research in Senate hearing, says son is “dramatically affected” (The Sick Times, May 14, 2025)
Kennedy’s comments in the hearing contradict Trump administration actions targeting Long COVID and COVID-19 research and support
Long COVID was at the top of legislators’ priority list during today’s Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee hearing with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Senator Bill Cassidy (R-L.A.), who chairs the HELP Committee, asked about federal health agencies’ commitment to addressing Long COVID in his first question to the Secretary.
In his question, Cassidy noted the need to treat previously ignored infection-associated chronic illnesses like myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) in tandem with Long COVID. He also mentioned the Department of Health and Human Services’ decision to close the Office of Long COVID Research and Practice.
Cassidy asked, “To what extent will HHS continue to support research, data collection, and other programs dedicated to understanding the health impacts of Long COVID?”
Kennedy told the HELP Committee, “I am 100% committed to finding treatments for Long COVID. I’m deeply involved in that, personally. I have a son who is really dramatically affected by Long COVID. I have many friends that are affected by that, and by Lyme disease, incidentally, which is also a priority.”
He stated that the Office of Long COVID was cut by an executive order from the White House. “But everyone at the NIH and CDC is committed to these kinds of studies. And I can tell you, personally, I will make sure that they happen,” he said.

It would be interesting to know if RFK Jr.'s son had been immunized against C19 before he got infected.

Just focussing on thyroid disorder. The first question to ask is whether covid-19 is a bigger risk than vaccination? Interestingly this was looked at in the same population.

This study consistently demonstrated a significant increase in the risk of thyroid dysfunction, including thyrotoxicosis and hypothyroidism, among COVID-19 patients compared to non-COVID-19 patients.
In the short term (3 months post-exposure), the COVID-19 group exhibited a HR of 2.07 (95% confidence interval [CI] 2.01-2.12) for thyroid dysfunction, which included both thyrotoxicosis (HR 2.10, CI 1.92-2.29) and hypothyroidism (HR 2.08, CI 2.01-2.13). This heightened risk persisted over the long term (up to 12 months), with HRs indicating an ∼2.01-fold increased risk for overall thyroid dysfunction, a 1.8-fold increased risk for thyrotoxicosis, and a 2.04-fold increased risk for hypothyroidism. Subgroup analysis, stratified by age and sex, revealed a notably higher risk of thyroid dysfunction in patients aged 65 and above (HR 2.18, CI 2.11-2.25), compared to those in the under-65 age group (HR 1.97, CI 1.91-2.03). Both male and female patients were associated with an elevated risk, with females showing a slightly higher association with thyroid dysfunction (HR 2.12, CI 2.06-2.16) compared to males (HR 1.76, CI 1.69-1.82).

In contrast for vaccination
The risk of subacute thyroiditis remained unchanged (95% CIs included 1). A significant reduction in hyperthyroidism risk was observed from 3 to 9 months postvaccination (hazard ratios [HRs]: 0.65-0.89, all 95% CIs below 1), but this trend was not significant at 12 months (HR: 0.99; 95% CI: 0.92-1.06). In contrast, the risk of hypothyroidism significantly increased from 6 to 12 months postvaccination (HR: 1.14-1.30, all 95% CIs above 1). Among mRNA vaccine recipients, the risk of both hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism was significantly elevated at 12 months (HR: 1.16-2.13).
So the risk from Covid-19 was greater than from vaccination.

What was the absolute magnitude of effect? For hypothyroidism at 12 months post event about 1:300 increase for vaccination compare with infection increase by >1:100.

vaccinated popvaccinated casesunvaccinated popunvaccinated cases
1,166,74813,4961,166,7489,675
Uninfected popuninfected casesinfected popinfected cases
1,379,31113,868[1,379,31128,238

So risk of hypothyroidism three times greater following infection than vaccination. But remember these are retrospective cohort studies and association does not prove causation. Hypothyroidism is a common disorder. As the authors of the vaccination study commented

Nevertheless, our study also has several important limitations. First, a significant limitation of this study is that we did not exclude individuals who may have been infected with COVID-19 during the study period. As of April 26, 2023, the number of both confirmed and presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 in the United States had reached over 104 million, which represents approximately 31.3% of the US population. Given this high infection rate, COVID-19 infection had become a common problem during our data collection period (January 2022 to December 2023). Therefore, we did not specifically exclude COVID-19 infections to reflect the real-world scenario and the widespread nature of the infection during that time. However, since COVID-19 infection itself can lead to thyroid dysfunction, it is challenging to discern whether the observed thyroid abnormalities are solely attributable to the vaccination or are a combined effect of vaccination and subsequent infection. The potential confounding effect of undiagnosed or asymptomatic COVID-19 infections among the vaccinated and unvaccinated cohorts could bias the results. Future studies should aim to incorporate COVID-19 infection status to better isolate the impact of vaccination on thyroid health and provide a clearer understanding of the relationship between COVID-19 vaccination and thyroid dysfunction.

Where did you find this, Mike? It's fairly obvious that you didn't take a look at any of those studies!

New peer-reviewed research suggests COVID vaccines worsen fertility and mRNA jabs specifically can produce spike protein for up to eight months.
The first one doesn't say that "COVID vaccines worsen fertility"! What it does say is:
Conclusions: Our findings suggest that both mRNA and inactivated COVID-19 vaccines may detrimentally impact ovarian reserve in rats, primarily through accelerated follicular loss and alterations in apoptotic pathways during folliculogenesis. Given these observations in a rat model, further investigations into the vaccines’ effects on human ovarian reserve are needed.
The longer version:
Conclusions
This study is the first to evaluate the effects of mRNA and inactivated COVID-19 vaccines on ovarian follicles and ovarian reserve in a rat model. The findings demonstrate that both vaccines, particularly the mRNA vaccine, are associated with a reduction in ovarian reserve, characterized by depletion of the primordial follicle pool and increased follicular loss via apoptosis throughout folliculogenesis. However, these results should be interpreted cautiously, as preclinical models cannot be directly extrapolated to human reproductive health. Further longitudinal studies in human populations, including assessments of AMH levels and antral follicle counts, are necessary to validate these observations and determine their clinical significance.
Mike, do you know the meaning of "interpreted cautiously"?
It was a study on rats, and they don't even know if what they found actually impacts the fertility of (female) rats!!!
assessing long-term fertility and offspring health could clarify whether vaccine-induced ovarian alterations affect reproductive function or if compensatory mechanisms exist.
The second one is "a study involving 50 individuals."
Conclusion
This exploratory study suggests S1 persistence in CD16+ monocytes, coupled with a PASC-like cytokine profile, may contribute to PCVS symptoms. While S1 persistence and a PASC-like cytokine profile were detected, causality remains unproven due to limited sample size and variable S1 presence. Larger, longitudinal studies are essential to validate these associations and assess prevalence
But tell us, Mike, why it is important that "mRNA jabs specifically can produce spike protein for up to eight months." Is that bad? You seem to think so, but can you tell us why you think it's bad?

Yet another peer-reviewed study this year, published in the Endocrine Society's Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, found the risk of underactive thyroid "significantly increased from 6 to 12 months" after vaccination, and that both under- and overactive thyroid was "significantly elevated at 12 months" for mRNA vaccine recipients specifically. For some reason, you didn't notice the conclusion of the JCEM study:
Conclusion: COVID-19 vaccination was associated with a reduced risk of hyperthyroidism and an increased risk of hypothyroidism, highlighting the need for ongoing thyroid function monitoring.
And this was the article you got your quotation from:
Jim Jordan probes politics of Pfizer COVID vax trial as research suggests jabs hurt fertility (Just the News, May 17, 2025)

For the sake of newcomers: Most so-called anti-vaxxers are actual anti-vaxxers, but they don't like that term. They prefer to be called vaccine skeptics, which doesn't change the fact that they are anti-vaxxers. It's a little like when creationists want to be called advocates of intelligent design. They are still the same old creationists, but intelligent design sounds more sciencey.

One final question, Mike: What does your post have to do with RFK Jr.?

Politico interviewed Jay Bhattacharya this week. "Yes. Germany closed the schools and Sweden didn’t — and you see that Sweden ended up doing better than Germany." According to a 2023 article at SBM, this statement is false.

"The alliance between the Trump supporters, the MAGA, and the Bobby Kennedy supporters, MAHA, it’s actually an incredible alignment. And I’ll tell you why. I think President Trump, whatever you may think of him, he speaks for the regular person, right?"

MRNA vaccines first developed in the 1990's. So is 30 years of testing long enough?

Wake me up when there is something to get worked up about.

Federal authorities are investigating the decapitation of a dead, stranded dolphin, a violation of the Marine Mammals Protection Act.
A member of the public originally reported the stranding of a dead dolphin on Lea Island, near marker 105, to the Southeast Marine Mammal Stranding Hotline on April 15...It was determined that someone intentionally removed its head between April 16 and April 18, after the initial stranding report. Link to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration article

Can RFK Jr. verify his whereabouts between April 16th and the 18th? Given bobby's 'history' I think it's at least worth looking into. ;)
