The Truth about RFK Jr

At Substack Paul Offit wrote, "By embracing the benefits of measles infection, RFK Jr. has done everything he can to encourage this outbreak. He has also said nothing about the growing pertussis epidemic, which has now killed children in Washington, Louisiana, South Dakota, and Idaho. Nor has he said anything about the 216 children who have died this season from influenza—a death rate in children not seen since the global flu pandemic in 2009. All these outbreaks are caused by undervaccination." The pertussis toxin adds an adeonsinediphosphoribosyl group to the alpha subunit of an inhibitory trimeric G protein, preventing its inhibition of adenylyl cyclase.

But he is just trying to get the child morality rates back up to where nature dictates they should be. Really we have gotten far to used to the expectation that all your kids would reach adulthood. Traditional family values means burying a couple of kids.

And if you can't kill them by preventable diseases, there's always the regular school mass-shooting schedule with decent odds of a hit or two.

CNN reported, "Pertussis is especially dangerous in infants. Globally, it is a significant cause of disease and death in infancy, according to the World Health Organization. About 1 in 3 babies younger than 1 year old infected with pertussis will need care in the hospital, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. CDC statistics also indicate that about 1 in 5 of those hospitalized develop pneumonia, 1 in 50 have convulsions, and about 1 in 100 will die from their complications. In addition, there are people with preexisting health conditions that may be exacerbated by pertussis. These include those who are immunocompromised or have moderate to severe asthma." Declining vaccination rates are likely to be one reason why levels have increased recently. Another possible reason is that masking and isolation during Covid-19 reduced the likelihood of transmission, but with the end of these effects, levels are rising.

I was trying to figure out a response of that sort but my rhetorical skill turned around and shot me instead, so you get the points.
Thanks but declined. I was concerned that my attempt at humour might be construed as gross and macabre on account that it might actually come true...more than once.

(low sugar drinks in the UK are cheaper because the tax is lower so now there are comparatively few full sugar drinks as manufacturers have moved to producing low and no sugar versions)
Splashed out on some Irn-Bru 1901 (i.e. original recipe, sugary delight) today. 80p a can (and that's from a four-pack, after loyalty card discount). Contrast that with the supermarket's own brand 2l lemonade with Sucralose™ (blehh) at 40p.

Psuedoscience says . . .

The Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday announced it will begin the process of pulling prescription fluoride drops and tablets for children off the market. The supplements are usually given to kids at high risk for cavities.

The federal government and some state legislatures are increasingly drawing attention to what they claim are the risks associated with fluoride, a mineral that’s been used for decades in community water systems, toothpastes and mouth rinses to prevent tooth decay.

Dentists fiercely contest the notion that the harms of fluoride outweigh the benefits.

“The only side effect that we know of from using fluoride is dental fluorosis,” a cosmetic issue that leads to white or, in extreme cases, brown marks on teeth, said Margherita Fontana, professor and chair of the department of cariology, restorative sciences and endodontics at the University of Michigan.

FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary said in a news release that he's instructing the agency's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research “to evaluate the evidence regarding the risks of systemic fluoride exposure from FDA-regulated pediatric ingestible fluoride prescription drug products to better inform parents and the medical community on this emerging area.”
The news release suggested that ingested fluoride can alter a child’s gut microbiome and cause weight gain, thyroid disorders and “possibly decreased IQ.”

“The best way to prevent cavities in children is by avoiding excessive sugar intake and good dental hygiene,” Makary said.

Experts agree that the U.S. diet has far too much sugar, which is linked to chronic diseases like obesity and type 2 diabetes.

“Those are the same diets that will completely destroy our teeth. But the reason our teeth have been able to succeed in this modern diet is because of the fluoride products that we have,” Fontana said. “If we start removing them, we’re going to be where our grandparents or great-grandparents were, with dentures at young ages.”

The FDA said the evaluation should be completed by Oct. 31.

They're working on reducing school shootings by getting rid of public schools. Think of the millions (of dollars) that will be saved!
True, but think about the more expensive and high-powered guns kids will have access to in private/charter schools.

We really need together RFK to address the dangers of golf courses.
Barrow Neurological Institute and Mayo Clinic-led researchers report an association between living near golf courses and increased Parkinson's disease (PD) risk in a study published in JAMA Network Open.

If they are a cause of Parkinson'd could they explain the rise in autism? What are the rates of autism in children living near golf courses?

I get you, especially as it's your home being trashed. But I read out of a macabre fascination, like rubbernecking at a car crash.
Where the US leads, the rest of the Western world often follows - we may be looking at our own future as the anti-intellectualists and know nothings take control led by the tech bros and right wing media who simply want things to burn.
