Meredith Kercher was murdered on October 1st and her body was flown back and buried in England. After that, the only reason for the Kerchers to go to Italy was to attend the trials. Whereas, Curt Knox and Edda Mellas had a lonely daughter in prison in Italy.

The amusing thing here is that you (obviously unwittingly) have demonstrated further that you a) know little or nothing about cellular telephony technology, and b) have ongoing trouble distinguishing between a true fact, a reasonable conjecture supported by scientific evidence, and and out-and-out lie.

See: cellular telephony signals in around the 900-1900MHz band DO have great trouble penetrating thick stone (or concrete) walls. And as such, it's an entirely reasonable supposition that Sollecito's apartment - within a thick-stone building, and within a tightly-clustered network of other thick-stone buildings - would indeed have potential signal reception problems. The fact that you don't understand this makes your assertion that this is a "crazy story" all the more laughable.

On the other hand, stating something as a factual occurrence - such as, say, the "fact" that Knox and her family flew back to Seattle on a private charter arranged by David Marriott - where that "fact" turns out to be reliably proven to be false..... well that really IS dishonesty and a totally malleable relationship with truth and accuracy.

And that's what YOU did, Vixen. So completely different from making a (reasonable and scientifically-supportable) conjecture about the mobile phone signal strength within Sollecito's apartment. The very fact that you tried to compare the two was, frankly, a disgusting and repugnant comment. Shame on you.

But having said that, I do think (as I and others have said here many times before) that the Kercher family should have had financial support - in the form of assisted travel and subsistence costs - for significant parts of the trial process. I think the UK Government should have provided this assistance, and I think it's to their discredit that they apparently did not do so.

And whether or not a company such as British Airways wanted to give the Kercher family free/subsidised flights at any point is entirely a decision for BA at a local or central level. Personally, I'd have thought that it could have been a commercially sensible decision for an airline such as BA to give some level of help to the Kerchers during the trial process - but if they did not do so then either they were never approached, or they never thought of it, or they did consider it but rejected it. Either way, if BA decided to give flight assistance to the Knox family and not the Kercher family, it's hardly the fault of the Knox family - though I'm pretty certain (borne out already by some posts here) that many pro-guilt commentators will try to find some way to blame Knox for this too......

I do too. That said, we know little about what efforts were made.

It doesn't seem like BA made a corporate decision to assist the Knox family, but that a BA employee in Seattle who was a friend of the Knox famiily or a member of Friends of Amanda helped to secure the lower cost travel for them. Was it this person's responsibility to reach out to the Kerchers?

I doubt it as the DNA evidence the first trial primarily used as evidence against them would not have been allowed in court. Curatolo would have been laughed out of court as he was in the Hellmann trial. A Texas defense attorney would have skewered Quintavalle and Capezalli in court.

I love when Vixen talks about an industry that I worked in for two decades. I read Dr. Pellero's report. There was DEFINITELY an issue getting cellular reception in his building.

The following are some factors that cause interference:

Physical objects: Trees, masonry, buildings, and other physical structures are some of the most common sources of interference. The density of the materials used in a building’s construction determines the number of walls the RF signal can pass through and still maintain adequate coverage. Concrete and steel walls are particularly difficult for a signal to pass through. These structures will weaken or at times completely prevent wireless signals.

Radio frequency interference: Devices that share the channel can cause noise and weaken the signals.

Electrical interference: Electrical interference comes from devices such as computers, refrigerators, fans, lighting fixtures, or any other motorized devices. The impact that electrical interference has on the signal depends on the proximity of the electrical device to the wireless access point. Advances in wireless technologies and in electrical devices have reduced the impact that these types of devices have on wireless transmissions.

Environmental factors: Weather conditions can have a huge impact on wireless signal integrity. Lightning, for example, can cause electrical interference, and fog can weaken signals as they pass through.

I've noticed that they're going after Amanda's boyfriend now, too, over on TJMK. Amanda, her parents and her sisters aren't enough to attack. They need more people to denigrate and target with their poison:

As I’ve said on here before, the only conclusion that I can come to is that he is turned on by knowing what his girlfriend has done and that, for my money, places him somewhere on the psychopathy scale too. He certainly looks like the type who enjoyed harming animals when he was young, albeit looks can be deceiving! Or maybe he’s just a plain old deviant character who will grab his thrills where he can. Claiming that Raffaele is the nephew of Rocco Sollecito is yet another lie that TJMK created but has never provided any evidence for. They do seem to have a habit of doing that. I've looked at many sources about Rocco Sollecito and not a single one ever mentioned him being related to, much less the uncle, of Raffaele. Nor is it mentioned in any book on the Kercher case. If Raffaele were related to the notorious mafia figure, especially that closely, it would have been noted in the media. But, no...it's not. This one gets tossed onto the "Marriott hired a charter plane" pile of dung.

What did give me a real laugh, though, was this:

I get that. However, electronics and communications expert witnesses at the trial tested all of this and discovered:

• There was no break in the signal as of the date of the murder.
• None of Raff's neighbours, in exactly the same situation, had any problems with their signals or reception during that evening.
• Raff was demonstrably shown to be lying about having spoken to his father at about 23:00.
• Raff was lying about his phone being switched on, but in an area where there was no signal.
• There is objective scientific proof beyond reasonable doubt, he switched on his phone circa 5:30 next morning and received the incoming messages which had been bouncing off the telphone masts periodically.
• Amanda Knox admitted turning off her phone at circa 20:45 the night of the murder, giving at least three different reasons to police.
• It is an objective scientific observation based on phone logs that Raff switched off his phone within 15 minutes of Knox.
• This is fact.
