Again "Compromise with us, that way we can move further away from sanity and then demand you meet us in the middle and compromise again" is a problem that nobody actually is having difficulty understanding and vague, glib appeals to compromise are not being mad honestly.

But as always the onus is always on the sane, correct side to compromise with the insane, incorrect side in way that is functionally just being on the insane, incorrect side without having the intellectual honesty to admit it.

Yes, the Dems have to be the capitulating adults in the room cuz they want govt to function. Its a ****** burden.

What you are advocating is not compromise. As I said, compromise only works when everyone is dealing in good faith. What you are advocating is surrender.

The Republicans have no credibility. Why should the Democrats offer a deal? It's on the Republicans to earn their trust now.

We're not even being given the benefit of THAT.

We're being told "Cindy likes chocolate chips and Adam likes rat turds so the moral and philosophical onus is on Cindy to be the 'bigger person' for no reason other then her being right should put her at a disadvantage and she needs compromise and eat rat turds and oh by the way don't you dare say that means I'm on Adam's side."

So you're saying that democrats should not be the adults in the room to make sure that government functions. Ok, its a strategy i guess. Not sure what it will accomplish.

However I do not think the Democrats are going to do that so it's not really worth discussing.

Problem is for some people. any concesions whatsoever is "Capitulation"
That is the problem with hard core ideologues. Their whole philosophy is 'My Way Or The HighWay".

They have been that this whole time and how has it worked? At some point, they stop being the "adults" and become "enablers".

And unfortunately this is not about just some kids. It's way more serious with potential consequences for many people.

So yeah, REPs don't care, because if the house burns down, they gonna blame everyone but themselves. And they win because their side is happy and the other side is angry about the Dems not being parent enough. Their M.O. is to be disruptive and destructive and they take collateral damage as bycatch.
