This is an interesting answer. The OP doesn't mention whether it was in the sun or not. I wonder how you came about this quite definitive answer to my question.

Sorry, my mistake! I thought you were referring to me untill I saw that "OP"

Well that clearly explains everything!

I guess new posters in this forum are quickly subject to woo-woo, right?

"Subject to woo-woo"? Not sure what you mean by that.

I meant there have been a significant number of new posters whose initial posts start of with "I'm a huge skeptic/atheist/critical thinker but..." and then go off on some supernatural story or stories. Experience has taught us that some of these posters aren't totally honest to begin with.

In other words, they are quickly categorize/conceive as woo-woo. Does it make sense now?

Interesting, I never actually thought the JREF Forum is vulnerable to the credulous/liars than genuine skeptics, critical thinkers, etc.

I guess I have to stay in this forum more often to this as self-evident :)

It is a forum with thousands of posters who are here for hundreds of reasons and scores of motivations.

It will take a long time to get an accurate feel for the place.

But the short answer is: yes, there are a measurable number of members who sometimes draw conclusions too quickly. I am sometimes in that group.

Judging by the look of this, I'm assuming the JREF Forum is a place for discrimination.

arthwollipot, Nope.

Don't take it too hard. We often get people just asking innocent questions for a while before they rip the mask off.

Doesn't follow in the slightest. I've given you my impression, with an admission i could be wrong. You can try to clear up the impression or ignore me. Or you can do as you are doing and continue to give the same impression while throwing out silly remarks.

Actually, if you take the word 'discrimination' literally, then yes it most certainly is; the forum members try to discriminate the facts from the woo.

The problem rather is that some posters identify themselves with the concepts instead of trying to argue why something is one way or another.
