.......The point I responded to in your original twisting of Mader Levap's phrasing was the point about enabling racism, and you know it. Banging on about recession in an attempt to portray my arguments as ignorant or stupid is just your smoke screen to distract from my rebuttal of your initial mistake (which I feel must be intentional on your part, since your rhetoric is all dependant on your straw man).

It's not me making your arguments look stupid. Mader Levap said (in terms) that racist attacks and recession had been enabled by anyone who voted Leave. Rant and squirm and accuse me of lying as much as you like, but others can read that all I have done is take apart this ridiculous assignation of blame. As I said, if he had used the word emboldened, then I wouldn't have responded. but he didn't.

Ja, but that wasn't the wording. If the poster had said "emboldened" s/he wouldn't have had an argument from me. But s/he didn't. Saying "enabled" is a very different thing, laying the entirety of the blame for any racist attack on everyone who voted Leave, which is indefensibly beyond stupid.

Fair do's that "emboldened" would have been clearer, but I think their point was fairly clear in any case.

.......A typical tactic of disingenuous people making disingenuous arguments.

I note this is the 5th or 6th time in the last couple of pages that you have made unsubstantiated claims about me lying. You're puerile behaviour doesn't enhance my enjoyment of the forum. Enjoy your day.

I have demonstrated your fallacious interpretations of the comments of others.

There's nothing puerile in calling a spade a spade. Quite the opposite.

If all you are doing here is getting your jollies, then I'm glad to spoil it for you.

Yes, everyone can see what's been going on here.

Shall we have a poll to see who is squirming?

Yes, if not lying to us, you are lying to yourself. Think about it.

No, it's still about being to brown of skin. There's just a new term used to hide this.
Strongly agreed. Opposition to a religious ideology - which may be perfectly in order - is being used in this case as a proxy and cover for the pure racism which is no longer socially acceptable.

A lot of racists seem to think they represent the 'silent majority' and are going to see the Brexit result as a validation of that belief, regardless of reality. The result has emboldened them, even if the vast majority of Leave voters would be repelled by their actions.

The incident on the tram in Manchester yesterday being a prime example, with a US Army veteran and university lecturer being called a "dirty little immigrant" and told to "get back to Africa" by a bunch of beer-swilling scallies.

Huh? You think Farage is deliberately trying to scupper Brexit so he can keep his MEP job? CT is thataway------>
On the other hand, remember when he resigned and then didn't? Farage revels in the limelight and doesn't like to seem to be out of it for very long. I suspect that since no post-Brexit solution can truly satisfy the hard-core UKIPper, the party will always exist and Farage will always be front-and-centre.

Okay, as alluded to here is Nigel Farage's contribution to UK-EU diplomacy in the run-up to sensitive trade negotiations:

Farage wants no delay in Article 50.

Now, here's Daniel Hannan saying there should be no rush and also, oddly enough, that most of the EU-UK relations should stay the same, including free movement of labour. As Evan Davies points out, this blatantly is not what some Leavers thought when they didn't want free movement of labour to depress wages.

I am sure these things have been posted already and I apologize that I am only catching up on some of this, but what kinds of trade deals are Leave (and presumably Remain) fishing for, and what will necessarily be tacked on in order to get those deals?

Probably more a case of overlapping degrees. Some people don't care about immigrants who a white, and are only bothered by the ones who aren't. In some specific areas people are especially resentful towards Eastern Europeans. In others it's all immigrants, white and non-white.

I do think there's a certain irony that back in the 1980s NF/BNP types used to complain about all the blacks and Asians, but would often express admiration for those plucky Poles who had stood up to Communism and so ended up in exile here. "If only we had more of them and less of the ones we don't want!"
