Notable Passings and other milestones

I don't buy it. What you're talking about takes way too much time. She was never particularly liked in the party. She never built any kind of coalition of Republicans that would follow her. But who knows? I certainly don't.
Repugnicans are stupid enough to want to vote for her for President next time.

You're making me defend Republicans. I really wish you wouldn't do that.

Yes, they are stupid enough. But she's never shown the ability to control the narrative and build a coalition. Something Trump almost instinctively knew how to do. Still, something will happen. Someone will fill the void. But I'd be shocked if it was MTG or Boebert

He is one of those that I was surprised he was still alive as I thought he would have been quite a bit older than 82.

Bidi-bidi-bidi! What's up, Buck?

Always thought she was an under used character actress but reading her Wikipedia entry I see she only started acting at 35, which would explain why I don't remember her in roles when she was a youngster! Only 65, what a shame.

Early Doors was her first main, recurring role.

Probably best known for Ackley Bridge and Waterloo Road, both dramas set in schools.

RIP Gil Gerard
I was surprised at the amount of related posts on Facebook, many more so than for any of the other recently passed celebrities. Perhaps it's because my feed tends to lean more toward sci-fi.
(A picture I took at a sci-fi convention in 1979. This was before celebrities started charging for autographs and pictures.)

RIP Chris Rea.
Won't be driving home for Christmas this year.

He was born in Middlesbrough to an Italian father and Irish mother, his family ran a popular cafe in the town and were in the ice cream business.
Chris took his driving test in his dad's ice cream van and used to drive the round before he was famous.

Actor James Ransone from "IT: Chapter Two" and "The Wire," among many other shows and movies, has died. He was 46 years old
I just watched The Wire for the first time this past year, and he really made an impression. Ziggy was certainly a character. I also liked him in IT: Chapter Two. He died by suicide -- always a something that raises a lot of questions.

If you know.

I met Perry Bamonte in primary school and we became good friends. He bought me castanets from Spain. He and I sat together in the school corridor painting. We hung out as young punks together in the same gang. Gentle, kind and tender man. I will never forget you. RIP dear soul.

Brigitte Bardot. With her death the world's racists have become slightly less attractive.
