I think it is panic. He has to find a billion dollars per year in profits to service the loans he took out to buy the company and he has no clue about how to do that. He's never been in the position before of running a company of employees who have not signed up to his vision or his employment terms and he doesn't have the skills to do the job. It's that simple.

With the company turning private, it would only be a guess. But has anybody tried to estimate the current market value of Twitter, after Mr. Musk's personnel adjustments?

I mean, sure he can do what he likes but given that this is a poll to see if he should reinstate someone who essentially tried to overthrow an election on spurious grounds, it is amusing to see that a very obviously gameable poll is being trumpeted by people who would never have accepted the result if it had gone the other way.
 
Trump has already stated that he's not interested in going back on Twitter, because he has Truth Social.

It looks like reinstating Jordan Peterson is a rigorous interpretation of freedom of speech. Trump is a brazen and dangerous liar, on the other hand, but can hang himself on Twitter too, as he has done anyway. Not a problem.
 
Friday I pointed out that someone had posted the entirety of The Fast And The Furious in 2-minute chunks. It stayed up for over 24 hours. Now, someone has posted the entirety of Hackers in 2-minute chunks. It has been up for 14 hours as of this post.
