General Israel/Palestine discussion thread - Part 4

Well, the HAMAS proposal for just 5 hostages was laughed-at by Israel, as they told the interlocutor (Palestinian-American businessman and author, Bishara Bahbah, who serves as the chair of Arab Americans for Peace) to return to the terrorists and tell them to go pound sand.

In other developments, Jake Woods resigns.
Aid into Gaza is just sitting there in the staging area, waiting for HAMAS to stand down.
(Which they aren't -- rockets were launched this morning at Israeli communities).

The PM of Israel calls the current mobilization of the entire Infantry and Armored corps as a prelude to "an unprecedented operation in the history of wars” -- which is unfolding as this is being typed.

By the way, I'm somewhat confused about this whole 'hospital' thing in Gaza.
Weren't we being told recently that there are no more functioning hospitals in Gaza now, after IDF attacks had disrupted all of them?
Yet, the report on the tragic demise of a family (that chose to remain in an active combat zone after warnings to evacuate for their own safety) is showing people in hospital beds at Nasser medical facility, Khan Younis.

I still want to know the basics for the Israeli government's claim that there's sufficient food in Gaza.

Especially given the damage to the agricultural production

For example 2/3 of wells destroyed by December 2024.

This is based on satellite imagery so not reliant on Hamas claims.

Every Israeli bombing is a terrorist act.

Israel wants to destroy HAMAS.

What would happen to the individual members if HAMAS surrendered?

And how would they best surrender? To the UN?

What way would Israel find acceptable?

They'd go to prison in Israel, like any other Palestinian terrorist, unless some deal were worked out to exile them to some other county.

the PA surrendered, and as a result, people in the West Bank get robbed, shot, killed and have to live under an Apartheid regime.
People have the Right to violent resistance against oppression.

To be accurate Israel wants to destroy the Palestinian people. And a big part of that goal included heavily financing Hamas until very recently.

Well, if they'd go to prison in Israel, why would they?
Many Hamas terrorists have already surrendered to Israel, knowing that they'd go to prison in Israel. Normal people prefer jail to death. Jihadis, not so much.

Ok, its settled. Israel has basically abandoned the two-state solution with this step. The only alternative is the one state solution for both peoples.

Or of course Apartheid, which many Zionists want.

What say you @jt512 ?

How about you @webfusion ?

I wonder when the Arabs and Europe will also abandon the 2 state solution for the more realistic binational state.
