Because the "Trump's Second Term" thread is getting so long, I thought that we should have a separate thread for Trump supporters who are or will soon regret their vote.

I'll start off with a disabled military veteran who just got fired from his job at FEMA.

I voted for Donald Trump. But this is not what I was expecting,

“I voted for Donald Trump. But this is not what I was expecting,” he said. “We didn’t think they were going to take a chainsaw to a silk rug.”

The man’s wife said they also believed his 13 years of military service in the Navy and Air Force Reserves, with an honorable discharge as an E-4, would have offered him more protection against DOGE cuts."

But DEI initiatives are terrible.

Yeah, that's a thing with the US civil service: veterans get an advantage in hiring. There's a point system and being a veteran add points to an application. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, in fact I think it's a positive thing, but I'm pointing it out because these federal job cuts are hurting veterans. Which population, traditionally, the American public is at least in theory not eager to stomp all over. Lord Muck's toyboys "breaking things" is throwing more than few (thousand) veterans out of work.

This is already old news, but for posterity:

Trumpkin farmers find themselves in the Find Out phase.

Unfortunately, most of them will probably be incapable of regretting anything because they are too busy blaming all outcomes of their votes on anything other than Trump.
How to Know You Are in a Cult (1953) (Mr. Newberger's AI Funnies on YouTube, Feb 20, 2025 - 2 min.)
In this newly found film from the 1950s we learn how one can determine whether or not they are in a cult. Does any of this sound like you?

From the most recent polls, buyer's regret has begun,

What I thought was very telling from the news report linked was that the veteran and his wife asked that their names not be used:
"Because they are concerned about possible retaliation..."
They're concerned that if they voice a grievance, a legitimate grievance, in public they may face retaliation. They're probably right, they might very well. In other words, they already knew exactly what a piece of garbage trump is but they voted for him anyway.

Unbelievable.

Not necessarily, jerks are not confined to one half of the political spectrum. They may well be harrassed by people calling them up to jeer about leopards and faces, just as much so as threats from Trump supporters for changing their tune.

Incidentally, and people can correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 13 years of service and only reaching E-4 really bad?
Although I was reading it as Navy, and Air Force Reserves. I suppose if it's meant to be Navy Reserves, and Air Force Reserves, advancement may be slower.
