• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

Face, meet leopard. Leopard, meet face.

Thanks for the info. I use apps as little as possible; I much prefer a big desktop screen and a full keyboard.
The app I use mostly on my big iPad, with full keyboard.

The web these days is pretty much designed to work with apps, since 95% (IIRC) people access the web on their mobile devices.

I too first used the web in the mid-1990s, and learning new tools is all part of it.

I only use Reddit when I can project it from the clockwork oscillosphere onto a curtain of falling water. The whirring of the squirrel-operated treadmills provides a soothing white noise that makes the occasional arcs of lightning less surprising. It costs a thousand dollars a minute to run but it's worth it to see a new Waffle House fight video posting by "PoopingCat90210". They know a quality fight!

Incidentally, and people can correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 13 years of service and only reaching E-4 really bad?
Although I was reading it as Navy, and Air Force Reserves. I suppose if it's meant to be Navy Reserves, and Air Force Reserves, advancement may be slower.
For standard branches, pretty much everyone will be E-2 by the time they finish basic and tech school. If you don't make E-3 within the first contract period, you're kind of screwing up.

Depending on branch, E-4 or E-5 is where it shifts from Enlisted to Noncommissioned Officer, and requires leadership competency. It's E-4 for Navy, but E-5 for Air Force. No idea how this person's career progressed, nor do I really get what would be normal rank acquisition times for Reserves.

I would have extremely serious objections to folks like Musk knowing their voting records.
I have extremely serious objections with ANYONE knowing their voting records. I don't think Musk should know it, but there's NOBODY AT ALL that I would be okay with having access to that.

Who would you feel comfortable knowing voting records for employees?

Not necessarily, jerks are not confined to one half of the political spectrum. They may well be harrassed by people calling them up to jeer about leopards and faces, just as much so as threats from Trump supporters for changing their tune.
The report wrote "retaliation", not "harassment". Can't be sure, but to me that suggests that they are worried about official retribution, not mischief from randos.

ETA: And even if we assume they meant random harassment rather than official retaliation, it shows that they understand what sort of mobs have been emboldened by Trump's election -and they voted for him anyway. So newyorkguy's point would still stand.

Nobody. "Folks like Musk" wasn't meant to imply that it would be ok for anybody else.

A Trump supporter, 16 years working in the federal government, in February posting about they can't wait for the cutting to start, it will only be the bad actors that are targeted ...you can guess what happened next...

I wonder who they're expecting sympathy from? Other Trumpers? I certainly don't feel any compassion for them. I mirror shemp's feelings about the whole thing. I've seen people putting up gofundme's too.

It takes a special kind of hubris to be a government employee and think you should be exempt from Muskrat and the Minions culling your ass because you wear a MAGA hat. These doofuses actually thought it would be... what? Liberals getting fired? Minorities? How gullible can these people credibly be?

Muskrat has no rhyme or reason with his "efficiency" standard. He's just indiscriminately slashing and burning with no intelligence on how wise these cuts are. I assume it would take months of study to evaluate who is needed and who isn't within any government bureaucracy and importantly, to have a new structure ready to redistribute responsibilities with fewer workers.

Yup, that's what they were told by Trump. They believed everything he said. There was no way THEIR jobs would get terminated. Why, they work! They pay taxes! They're upstanding Americans! Now they're going to wish there was a stronger social safety net as they're standing in the unemployment line.

I wouldn't give them a goddamn cent! ◊◊◊◊ them!

MAGAs stupidly thought voting for Trump protected them from government culling.

Did they think your voting information is freely available to the government and that government can use it with prejudice? Imagine their outrage if the Dems did something like that.

An actual social safety net. They happily voted for the party they thoroughly agreed with that is actively dismantling "woke socialism" like safety nets in the USA.

Canada and Mexico, on the other hand... ;)

Forget the gullibility aspect, "I only wanted to ruin other people's lives" is a ◊◊◊◊ person to be.
