Dylan Avery

Conspiracism as a Way of Life

Here'a an example of a sane scientist saying wacky things years after she blew the whistle.

Lauren Moret is a rational scientist in this video.

Now she says the US government may have caused the earthquake in Japan and some other wacky things.

People don't change like that. I'd bet the government got to her; she has a daughter so she probably has a grandchild or two by now who she doesn't want to have an "Accident". She looks a little ill-at-ease in the YouTube video. The government has ways of getting to people and making them say what they want them to say.

Au contraire! Jonathan Kay points out that conspiracism is a way of life for many people. The Birthers, Truthers, HAARPists, etc. all have many veterans in their ranks who go back to the JFK assassination. Many have sacrificed their careers to conspiracism, and gone completely off the deep end. Richard Gage, for instance. Prof. Moret is just one more name on the list.

Others would include:

"No-Planer" Prof. Morgan Reynolds. Once upon a time, an economist published by the Cato Institute, and a speaker at their confabs. He won't be getting any more invitations.

The "Birther Colonel" Terry Lakin. Once upon a time, he was set to make the big 20-year jump from Lt. Colonel to full Colonel. Instead, he wound up doing a stretch in Leavenworth and threw away his pension and his medical career.

Mort Sahl, who once was a very funny comedian who threw away his career to expose the dark and sinister forces who control the government and assassinated JFK. Almost 50 years later, he's still working on it. (Am I the only one who noticed the strong resemblance between Sahl and Lee Harvey Oswald?)

An uninformed and uneducable semi-delusional douchebag makes a BS video accusing innocent people of mass murder, and then he subsequently finds that he has trouble getting anyone to take him seriously.

Gee, what a shocker! :p

It's a hard enough business to make it in when you're a serious, grounded individual. He's peaked and I wouldn't be surprised if someone spotted him as a Walmart greeter within the decade

I didn't do this one.

Another truther saw it, copied it, and reposted it because it's a good collection of info.

Lot's of truth-seekers want to see all the info but don't have time to do all the research. Making summaries of all the clearest info for those who don't have time to wade through all the disinfo on the internet is good from the viewpoint of a truther.

Yes, Truthers are well known for being busy busy busy. I mean, those joints aren't going to roll themselves, are they?

Greeter? No way. He wouldn't have enough senority.

You'll more likely see him re-stocking the condoms in the health & beauty department.

My hypothesis about Dylan Avery is that he was forced to make his movie a documentary because he didn't have the imagination to come up with a plausible narrative to make it a work of fiction.* He quickly found you don't need one with conspiracy theories, because you're "just asking questions".

* Really, I don't think anyone is THAT creative.

Oddly, that's EXACTLY what he did!

Bump with an interview with Dylan Avery.

Dylan Avery said:
“In my truly angry times, in 2005 or 2006, if you asked if the Bush administration planned the attacks, I would have said, ‘**** yeah’.”

But now?

“I don’t think Bush could plan a bowl of cereal,” he says.

Not that he's made a full retraction. That would be the honest and sensible thing to do, and a movie that would probably be worth watching.

Stop feeling embarrassed, Dylan, and own your mistake!

“But I was angry and confused.... " Dylan Avery, the Joseph Goebbels of 911 truth with no Hitler, followers dumber than NAZIs. What does that make Richard Gage?

Think I saw him on sidewalk in NYC this week with a sign........

Thanks for the link. Loved this bit:

“I wanted to make a film and see if I was good at it, but it took over my life.”

One of my favorite aphorisms cautions: Riding the tiger is easy. It's getting off that's tricky.
