• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

Does 'rape culture' accurately describe (many) societies?

For a start, it isn't. There is just as much milf porn as there is teen porn. Second, as has been pointed out, barely legal still means legal.

Why should it be more problematic for a 25-year old woman to play an 18-year old woman in porn than it is in your average romcom?
It may come as shock to you but apparently many of those plumbers and pizza delivery workers aren't in fact plumbers nor pizza delivery workers!

Citation.

You think that stating that there is teen porn is helping the ethics of your position?
Barely legal is legal in the USA - but not legal in the UK on DVD and Blu-ray.

Did you watch the Exodus Cry: 'Beyond Fantasy - Barely Legal' video? We're talking about actors looking VERY young. Do you want the teacher of little school girls jerking off to this stuff?

You still haven't replied to a number of previous posts. You said Pornhub was reputable and law-abiding.

In fact, nobody has backed you up.

You post stuff, I respond and ask for evidence and you ignore. That's correct isn't? Or are you scrambling right now for a response?

According to Trump, the US is the greatest country in the world....but I'd say he's a way to go before MAGA becomes a reality - how about dealing with BARELY LEGAL first. Here's Exodus Cry:

In “barely legal” porn, it’s common to see girls dressed up as children, wearing children’s clothes and being spoken to as such. Girls are often filmed holding teddy bears, lollipops, bright colored lunch boxes and speaking in high-pitched voices. The videos are often tagged with words like, “petite schoolgirls,” “cheerleaders,” “young teens,” “babysitters,” and “tiny innocent virgins.”

Not the sign of a civilised country. Not at all.

Rubbish - here's a reminder: #2,392.

I'm curious what your general attitude to sex is. How you feel about sex outside of marriage or what we might call less common sexual practices, you know, chips, dips, chains, whips? Or same sex sex? Group sex? I presume you're very supportive of this sort of thing? (Safe, sane and consensual, obvs.)

Nope, as I said, I and a lot of other members are waiting on you to define what you want to ban.
Again, you haven't replied. Just admit that you can't back up what you posted.

Take a look at #2,400. Do you think we did right to ban slavery? This is related.

No law against porn will avoid the pitfalls highlighted in that Guardian article.

You have agreed with the porn ban (ie protection of children from such content) that is the OSA. Many potentially innocent folk and media are getting caught up by the legislation. Some are going to take the British government to court.

How are you going to sort out the potential overreach?

I don't see much support of your stance from posters here.

It really is - asked to define what they want banning and suddenly questions about slavery. The mind boggles
From someone who supports the OSA legislation. Stop posting disingenuously.

It's because they can't and they're aware that any attempt to do so will be thoroughly picked apart to the point of uselessness.

I'm with Monkey on this one. There's something else going on.

I would suggest to the assembled company that it's just not worth responding until a defnition is forthcoming.

Slavery again. Look, for one thing, I would legitimately prefer a world with no slavery in it. I don't want a world with no porn at all in it. I don't want that even a little!

One metaphor that might fit is sugar - bad for people in excess and it contributes to the ill health of the population that industry puts cheap, plentiful HFCS in everything just because that's one of the easiest ways to make their product appealing. I'd probably approve of well thought out measures to discourage putting so much HFCS in 90% of everything. I do not want to even try to ban sugar. Not even HFCS! What I'll support is the effort to ban the addition of things that it never helps anyone to eat, like partially hydrogenated oils (the kind of things that are already illegal in porn).

You can't back up your position in any post you have made. Here and elsewhere.
Do you agree with Darat who supports the introduction of the Online Safety Act which will (to some degree as yet not know) curtail some free speech?

For the purpose of this review, ‘pornography’ is defined as ‘any media (including: internet, books, videos, magazines etc.) intended to sexually arouse consumers through the depiction of nudity or explicit sexual behaviour.’
