Can you beat Trump? Pick the WORST people for his cabinet positions you can think of!

So would it be in France, Switzerland, and I suspect in most European countries should some of our far right politicians come into power.
Whatever about the Swiss (I have my doubts about a people whose only achievement was the cuckoo clock), history would suggest that a significant proportion of the French people would revolt if the far-right got into power (in any other circumstances other than abject national surrender).

Charles Manson for Attorney General - the fact that he is dead is a positive aspect

There's a lot to learn about Switzerland's attitude towards immigration, including two popular initiatives in the 1970's proposing to round up and expel most immigrants from southern Europe - long term residents included, that were defeated by a relatively small margin (I was a teenager living in Geneva at the time). Furthermore, recent polls show that 1 in 4 Swiss citizens would have voted for Trump, and I'm reading many comments going "Way to go!" about Trump's plans.

As for France, recent electoral results show that the far right is in vogue, and I can guarantee you that the idea of rounding up "the Arabs" and throwing them out en masse is disturbingly popular. Should the charming Mme LePen float the idea, she would, certainly and unfortunately, gain a lot of support.

I think it's safe to say that the mass of U.S. citizens will remain passive as long as they're just rounding up brown people. There will be protests that will likely be put down by the military. Then, I don't know, other than it's gonna suck for a lot of folks.

ETA: Some folks have a plan A.

Admittedly, it's not much of a plan.
Massive chaos will not go over well with voters.
And voting is most effective protest of them all.
I understand being dissapointed with the election, but this total writing off of the American people is a bit much.

Yeah, the Swiss have always been a people with far too cosy of a relationship with the far right.

They voted for chaos.

They voted for chaos.
This is psychologically a very interesting and relevant fact looking forward to the next few elections:
You vote for Chaos when there seems to be no clear better alternative AND you feel that things can't get much worse for you, personally.

After four years of trump, things will have gotten much worse for a LOT of people, and Dems might not be able to articulate a clear plan on how to fix their problems, making another win for a Trump figure absolutely possible.

I swear Trump isn't staffing a government so much as casting his latest reality TV show. I really do think that's what's going through his mind. He's still in "build my brand" mode.

Obligatory on-topic suggestion: Giuliani for Solicitor General.

We have young ex-pat Americans married into our family. They are wondering if they will ever be able to see their parents again due to differing political views that may prevent them visiting home.
OK. I give up. How will the political views of these American ex-pats prevent them from visiting the country they are citizens of?

Maybe by "home" he means home. As in the place parents live, not the country. Or maybe if they're ex-pats maybe family is the only thing that attracts them to their country of origin. People do move, after all. It might also depend on the political views in question. They may be over-reacting or being too polar, but on the other hand, if you expected on return home to be berated as a traitor to your country or your race, it would be a different story, I think.
