The actress, who is 24, did not tell Rudy that she was 15. In the movie script, the 24 year old actress is portraying a 15 year old character, but Rudy didn't know anything about that. He had no reason to believe that she was anything other than an adult woman.

On the other hand (pardon the expression), I’m not sure there’s a huge need to be fair in this case.
 
The 15-year-old thing is silly and irrelevant. The story beyond the joke is that it's trivially easy to get kompromat on Rudy Giuliani.

That's all well and good, except that minors often look like adults and pretend to be so, especially women who often get their full growth earlier than men. Being invited for drinks to a hotel room by a 15-year-old who is mistaken for an adult wouldn't be an adequate defense for a statutory rape charge if the one being invited went ahead and ****** the 15-year-old.

Exactly! Giving him the benefit of the doubt is so pre-post-fact worldy. Just keep repeating it and throwing it the wall and see if it sticks.

That's true. But the point is that Giuliani was never told the character was supposed to be 15 whether she really was or not.

That's one point. Another point would be that old men shouldn't be hanging out with random young women in hotel rooms, especially without doing minimal due diligence.

I didn't say it would. I'm saying that it's not really fair to say that Giuliani is guilty of trying to **** a 15 year old when he had reason to believe that the woman in question was an adult (as there aren't many underage on-camera journalists), and she was in fact an adult. Calling him a paedophile just because the woman in question also plays the role of a 15 year old in other scenes is unwarranted.

A man in his 70s trying to **** a 24 year old is skeezy enough without adding a charge for which there is no evidence.

Absolutely. Which is why I said in an earlier post that it was stupid of him to go to her room at all and leads me to think he's just a lecherous old man who thought he might get lucky. EW. Just EW! Men like him make my skin crawl.

Agreed, and that leads into something that I got curious about earlier today.

I hope a reporter interviews Cohen and explores how deep his pranks go. Did he pose as a reporter from an existing news service? Did he make one up, and if so, did he make a fake website or take any other steps to make the facade withstand a tiny amount of scrutiny? Giuliani is notoriously not entirely there and often engages with text message conversations with strangers on accident.

The pants...is it just bad color in the photo, or is he actually wearing bright blue clown pants? For a millionaire he sure doesn't utilize his wealth to make himself look good. Bargain dentures which don't fit him correctly, tacky rings, and now clown blue pants.

Yeah, right. I'm self aware enough to know that if a pretty young thing is interested in me, it's not because she has a thing for pudgy middle-aged business travelers with hairy backs. If anything the former US Attorney for the Southern District of his Crotch should have expected this sort of thing.
