Merged Australian Politics / Australian election

It’s hard to know where to start when talking about Graham Frederick Richardson: bagman, political fixer and bon vivant. There were the bribes paid to him by way of prostitutes, Offset Alpine, Swiss bank accounts, taking a cut of the political donations he collected, accepting a hefty payment from Eddie Obeid in return for getting Obeid into parliament, having a major property developer build the extension on his home, being on the payroll of developers, and so much more.

Kate McClymont has had a vendetta against Richardson for decades, and it’s no surprise that she publishes this after he died. Not only was Richo not convicted of anything, he didn’t even face a court. So I disregard this article from a cowardly journo.

The Age has moved far from the progressive newspaper it has been for much of its life, and is obviously following the lead of its owner and sinks the boot into the ALP at every opportunity. If anything, their relentless disparagement of Victorian Labor is far worse, with former sport (!) reporter Chip LeGrande now chief head kicker.

The Age is now a rag. I still subscribe to it as the alternatives are even worse, and for the puzzles.

Kate McClymont has proved herself with years of accurate investigative journalism. I never liked Richardson and his closeness to the Murdoch press in recent years just confirmed my suspicions.
Did you read the article? It was a hatchet job about someone who cannot now defend himself. Who does she use to confirm some of her imaginations? Paul Murray and Mark Latham. Richo is condemned because Rene Rivkin was his friend.

Plus morality, which is pretty much a critic’s last refuge. Who care if he had affairs?

She might have done some good stuff, but this is utter muck raking.

The good money is on Angus Fraser toppling Ley within a week.

A Dutton clone in charge of the clown car. Goodbye coalition.

Sadly there's a vocal group carrying on that 'it would be a bad look to dump the Libs first woman leader'- well it would be- if she wasnt a total F.W........

As it turns out- being a woman doesn't mean she had any brains....

Would the man who replaces her be any better? They are a bunch of resentful, recalcitrant reactionaries, the lot of them.

It's not as if being a woman makes her any more intelligent....
Just look at Hansen.....

Put Hansen and Ley side by side- they could be sisters from a different mother.....

Fun fact...

When I was living on Bondi Road, Rene Rivkin was my landlord.

I never met him though, everything was handled by an old guy who had lived in the building since the 1920s.
