Merged Australian Politics / Australian election

You will probably not read about this because Roy Morgan is just about the only pollster independent of media companies.

“If a Federal Election were held now the result would be a hung parliament with the ALP on 51% (up 2.5%) just ahead of the L-NP Coalition on 49% (down 2.5%) on a two-party preferred basis.”

Both News and Fairfax have been reporting that the ALP can’t win.

While I agree with that I feel like we do need to develop a nuclear industry simply because we're still supposed to be buying those stupid submarines. And if we have these submarines we need a way to fuel them without having to rely on another country.
We have a nuclear industry. Just that it is very, very small. And the nuke subs will likely come with sufficient "fuel" in them to run their whole expected lifetimes. The only issue would be what to do with them once they are scrapped decades later. The USA has already scrapped over 150 nuclear-powered vessels.

A preferred majority = "hung parliament"??!

That is on two party preferences. There will be independents also elected. The quote below is the bit that is important. Most of the Greens vote will flow to the Labor party. Whether the ALP will get a majority will depend on how many independents can get elected.
The ALP gained significant ground on primary support this week, up 3.5% to 31.5% while the Coalition was down 3% to 36.5%. Support for the Greens increased 1% to 13.5%.
Support for One Nation dropped 0.5% to 5%, support for Other Parties dropped 1% to 3.5% and support for Independents was unchanged at 10%.

I am alive because of our nuclear industry. We need to explore expanding it but not with vague, impractical promises.

Indeed. I have friends who are working there right now. Expanding the industry means investing in it. But the previous government actually shrunk investment. Research was all sciency and "too woke". And didn't involve massively digging up Australia and shipping it overseas.

As Trump gets visibly more insane by the hour, Dutton seems to becoming a lot more circumspect about parroting his policies.

But now we have the wierdos coming out of the woodwork. Trumpets of Patriots...

It seems to me, that Clive Palmer is becoming more and more like Grunthos the Flatulent, every day.

I assume that his 'trumpet of patriots' is a reference to his sphincter.

Well you can thank Clive Palmer for this. He paid millions to get that ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ Ralph Babet elected. Does anyone want more like him holding power in the Senate?
