I say this to them outloud. "Sell everything you own and move to Russia. At a hundred Rubles to a Dollar, you'll be fabulously wealthy there and live like a king compared to here!" Oddly enough, not a one of them has done so.

I'll find the right link because it was an important critical thinking video about the NYT poll.

I'm going to have to look for this tomorrow, I have stuff that needs to get done first. What the link showed was that every month or so the NYT does the same poll with faulty methodology after which they run a half dozen stories based on the polls. Then when they publish a more validly conducted poll they publish it but run no stories based on the results. And the Times repeats this pattern about once a month.

The real problem is that, even suspending disbelief in Morning Joe's copium about NYT making things up, what they've made up is just not much of an outlier from other sources. Theirs looks the worst for Captain Electable, but the rest have all consistently looked bad for a long time too, and nobody's doing anytthing to even try to change course. The strategy for how to fix the problem consists entirely of pretending it isn't real and attacking realists for the sin of not pretending along with them.

Maybe it's because Russia has socialised health care...and state-supported education and public transport. You know...COMMUNISM! *jump-scare chord plays!*

Nah. They wouldn't even look into anything that far. Because their ignorance is astounding, but comfortable for them.
 
To poke at the economic comparison between the Biden and Trump Administrations -

In 2023, the average household in each income group could purchase the same bundle of goods and services that it purchased in 2019 with a smaller portion of its adjusted income after transfers and taxes because such income increased more than prices did from 2019 to 2023.

According to whom? Certainly not me.

It's the typical news media business plan: scandal, controversy and arguments/aka 'debates' sell the news. I don't read the NYTs unless it's an article someone linked to. I am disappointed the Times has lost their reputation for being above most of that sleazy business plan.

Oh well, it is what it is.

It’s not even that. This weird contrived argument that apparently shows “critical thinking” skills by Morning Joe, could arguably be seen as the NYT trying to scare Democrats into going to the polls. After all, the last thing you would want to try to convince people of, as happened with Hillary Clinton in 2016, is the election is in the bag and Trump can’t win.

But I really doubt that Morning Joe is the one guy who suddenly worked out what NYT is doing, putting out fake polls with fanfare in order to give their writers something to scribble about and then to secretly or quietly put out the REAL poll…. Jeez, what is Morning Joe smoking? Doesn’t he realize there are poll aggregators such as fivethirtyeight who actually notice polls?

Totally absurd.
 
I listened to a bit of Morning Joe.

It’s ridiculous. Morning Joe is comparing a national poll where Biden is ahead with state polls where he is mostly behind. Morning Joe then asks “why aren’t we talking about that poll then?” Because it doesn’t matter who wins the popular vote, Morning Joe! Have you learnt nothing from 2016, Morning Joe, you moron!

Then he says “oh look 20% of the NYT poll didn’t vote in the mid-terms! Oh yeah, these are ‘likely voters’!??”

Yes, Morning Joe! People vote at a much higher rate in the general election, Morning Joe! If you deliberately exclude all the people who didn’t vote in the mid-terms you have a higher risk of an unrepresentative sample, Morning Joe!

I can’t believe he is this stupid. Wasn’t he once a politician himself?
