Bigotry:
1. : obstinate or intolerant devotion to one's own opinions and prejudices : the state of mind of a bigot. overcoming his own bigotry. 2. : acts or beliefs characteristic of a bigot.

Bigot:
a person who is obstinately or unreasonably attached to a belief, opinion, or faction, especially one who is prejudiced against or antagonistic toward a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.

Think about the highlite for a moment.

Please don't pretend you don't understand the distinction that is being made.

"People who consciously made one particular choice" is not a demographic group in the sense being used by that definition. Not unless you think that, say, despising all rapists is bigotry.

You might be surprised. If white supremacists can be “very fine people” I’m not sure why rapists can’t be.

Aaaaaawww....want some pearls to clutch?

Try reading for comprehension. Does it sound like I'm a Trump supporter when I point out that he's as frothing at the mouth consumed with hatred for the "other" as the poster I was responding to?

It’s a weird and somewhat disingenuous position to take, and the constant both-sidesing is beyond tiresome.

Expressing hatred for people who are actively participating in the destruction of this country is not equatable with the hatred that fueled those people in the first place. If someone tried to murder my family out of some irrational hatred for me and I in turn hate that person for trying to murder my family, we aren’t both guilty of the same sin.

Vermin. Remember when Trump used that word, everybody immediately brought up how Hitler employed similar phrasing against his enemies? But suddenly it's okay because we aren't the baddies?

If you torture than analogy any longer you'll be committing a crime against language. What you really mean is that it's fine for us to say things about the others we would be horrified at if the other side said them about us.

I’m not sure why we would compare what the leader of a major political party and presidential candidate says at a rally and what an anonymous poster says on a relatively obscure internet forum as if they are equally concerning. But I guess when you’ve got to both-sides everything, you do your best with what you have.

It’s not the “other side”, it’s who on the other side. You let me know when anyone is making a fuss about DarthPatriot1776 calling the left “vermin” on some right wing message board and then we can talk about proper decorum.
