See page 12. The top issue in the Quinniepac poll is “Preserving Democracy”, not the economy. If that remains the top issue, the advantage goes to Biden.

People say things to pollsters for many reasons.

They may say that they're worried about preserving democracy, heck they may even believe themselves when they say it, but when push comes to shove their pocketbook is a major influence.

Then again there may be a class of people who vote GOP in order to "protect democracy" because they've swallowed the line that the Democrats are committing electoral fraud on an industrial scale and/or the Democrats will hollow out American Democracy from within by allowing tens of millions of illegals to vote.

True MAGA Patriots Must Remove Themselves From Biden’s Economy by Rex Huppke

America’s economy appears to have gone woke and is now fully supporting
the reelection of Crooked Joe Biden. None of this is good news if you care
about President Trump or America. It’s clear Democrats are manipulating
the economy and making it the strongest economy in the world in order
to fool voters into thinking Biden is a competent president. It’s clear true
Trump supporters cannot be party to this kind of liberal skullduggery.
So in response to this distressing spate of positive economic news,
I hereby call on all MAGA faithful to remove themselves from the
CORRUPTLY BOOMING BIDEN ECONOMY.

...

If you have a 401(k), you need to immediately cash that out and either
donate the money to President Trump’s reelection campaign/legal defense
fund (he will give it back to you, with interest, once elected) or invest those
funds in somethings sensible, like digital Trump Trading Cards. Next, you must
quit your job. It’s on us to help President Trump’s campaign by bringing those
unemployment numbers back up to where we think they should be under an
incompetent president who doesn’t know what day it is.

I'll be hiding in a dark hole with Nassim Taleb.

Is that from The Onion? Or I suppose it's campaigning to out sarcasm The Onion writers.

... no matter how much we say the economy is terrible, it keeps unpatriotically refusing to be terrible, ... It’s clear Democrats are manipulating the economy and making it the strongest economy in the world in order to fool voters into thinking Biden is a competent president ... Cash in your 401Ks and give all the money to Trump ...

It's a sorry state we're in when that article can't be recognized as sarcasm immediately and not as something a Trumper would actually seriously say.

I doubt that is the way that Trump supporters see it.

I agree. Trumpers think that Biden and the Dems are the ones that stole the election and therefore, are the danger to our democracy. In thei (sick) view, Trump is the Defender of Democracy.

It beggars belief but it seems that Trump is gaining support in the black community from Biden.

A recent New York Times and Sienna College poll found that in six key swing states 71% of black voters would back Mr Biden in 2024

I get that you might not be happy with the speed at which Biden is making things better, but thinking that Trump won't make things much, much worse...

Then again, if people are stupid enough to vote for Trump, they get the President they deserve.

There was a segment on MSNBC about this earlier that I was only paying half attention to this afternoon, and it seemed to be saying this was in the male black community, and their reasoning was, 'He was rich and a good business man' and they admired those points. No link, sorry, going by memory. I was very disappointed to hear that reasoning, as it's clearly not true.

The article is specifically talking about Blacks in South Carolina. Biden can afford to lose votes in SC, because he hasn't got a chance in hell of winning there. He lost in 2020 by about 12 percentage points in an election he won by over 4 percentage points. SC is reliably GOP at this point; the last Democrat they gave their EC votes to was Jimmy Carter in 1976.

The real problem for Biden is if he's losing Black votes in SC, he's probably losing them in Georgia as well, which gave him an unexpected 16 electoral college vote bonus in 2020 for Biden as Georgia went Democrat for the first time since 1992. Take those 16 votes away from Biden and give them to Trump and we're at Biden 290, Trump 248. Realistically at that point if Trump can flip Arizona (he lost by about 0.3 percentage points) and Michigan (lost by 3 percentage points but Biden is under fire from the local Arab immigrant population for his support of Israel), we're already talking Trump II. Add Pennsylvania (Trump lost by 1 percentage point) and it's starting to turn into a runaway.

EJ Caroll bolsters Trumps chances in the election with this nice take down by Candace Owen's, far left extremist commentator

https://youtu.be/zoXZ8Uln-lg?si=8mMd_DtTVgNKyAD5

Candace Owen is widely acknowledged as right wing, at last check, and has been described as having made her career by pushing anti-black and pro-white supremacy rhetoric. It's certainly possible that she's raising Trump's chances again, sure, though, given that she is a media figure.

Trump losing in court, much less so disgracefully, is unlikely to actually help Trump's chances, though, absent a bunch of spin to try to turn up into down.

I was being provocative.
Candace Owens is ok, she married a whitey, and wonders if her burgeoning family are opressed or opressors.

yeah see these people are clearly lying. it’s not a 4D chess move to humiliate yourself in court and lose a $90M judgement when that’s completely avoidable. let’s hear about how smart it is to spend nearly a hundred million of campaign funds he could’ve used to campaign on legal fees next. next the genius move of how he’ll lose another half billion in a civil fraud case.

he didn’t even build the ******* wall

Democrats offered him funding for the wall, $35 billion, in exchange for DACA.

Trump said no.

Sorta like the current situation with the border. Democrats look like they nigh completely caved when it comes to the Republican demands regarding the southern border in exchange for Ukraine/Israel support. Trump says "No, I want the issue" and Republicans suddenly oppose getting what they demanded.
