Trump's US Threat to Greenland (which belongs to Denmark)

Trump isn't talking about Allies cooperating to improve mutual defence. He's talking about taking over Greenland. That's blackmail at best.
You haven't been paying attention. Trump has been pushing other NATO members (including Denmark) to increasing their defense spending since his first term. It's been a consistent policy and a consistent message for over 8 years now. If you can't see the connection, you're still chasing the squirrel.

◊◊◊◊ that's funny.

How can threatening to take an allies property be anything other than an act of aggression.

The USA has made itself the dominant partner in NATO from its inception. It is the permanent head of military operations. It can negotiate improved investment without unilaterally declaring it will take another countries property.

You call it a negotiation. That's not a negotiation.

Take it however you want to take it, I don't care if you can't see the bigger picture. And I never said you have to like it. But regardless of your opinion of what Trump is doing, he's doing more than just saying he wants Greenland. And that something more isn't actually planning a military conquest.

It is negotiation. It's not the kind of negotiation you like, but then, Trump isn't trying to please you.

You have no ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ idea what Trump is doing because Trump has no ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ idea what he's doing. This is just you slapping lipstick on a pig. Trumpers accusing others of "not see(ing) the bigger picture" is the funniest thing I'll read on the internet today. Trump is burning bridges with allies globally and Trumpers are still acting like he's playing 4D chess.

No, it's not. Bullying isn't negotiating. I understand smooth brains need to find a way to rationalize, hell even glorify, the stuff Trump does for some ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ reason, but the world is laughing at you guys, not with you. All this pandering other countries are doing to Trump, it's because they know how ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ pathetic he is, they know how easy it is to manipulate the pentulant man-child with small gifts and bribes. It works. Every. Time. Why? Because Trump is a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ loser. A simple, stupid, loser.

The bigger picture being, whatever Donald does you will support it and lick his ball sack because it upsets the Libs.

I don't know what part of "we have to have it" you don't understand.

The idea that Trump is operating at a level a mere mortal like me can't understand is hilarious.

Mikkel Vedby Rasmussen, a political science professor at the University of Copenhagen, told Reuters news agency: "This appointment shows that all the money Denmark has invested in Greenland, in the defence of the Arctic, and all the friendly things we have said to the Americans, have had no effect at all."
It's a negotiation but it's not a negotiation.

Did I say I supported any of this? No, I did not. Nothing I said has anything to do with whether it's a good idea or a bad idea. The only thing I've been doing is pointing out correctly that he isn't doing what some people seem to think he's doing. You aren't even claiming that I'm wrong.

I think that Trump really does not care much about the security of the Arctic, but that he sees Greenland as an opportunity to make America bigger, and place himself as the president that has expanded the U.S. the most ever, especially if he can add Canada too.

By the way, I don't notice much talk of adding Canada any more. Maybe Trump sees Greenland as the easier target.

No, I think someone told him once that Russian ballistic missiles would approach over Greenland, so he's obsessed with making sure it's his.

Baby steps. Venezuela, Panama, Greenland

I don't know what part of "we have to have it" you don't understand.
The part where you insist on taking everything he says at face value.

That's not the reason you can't understand it. It ISN'T at a particularly high level, but you have blinders on.

The fact that the very notion of the idea doesn't strike you as completely absurd is a concern. It's just as insane as telling Canada they should be the 51st state.
