Florida State politician instigates armed road rage, got shot dead by Prius driver

Dude imagine if you could hook the taser directly to the Prius's batteries..

No one has mentioned alcohol. Not sure if the autopsy result will be released but I'd bet on it showing DUI. And I'd bet in the previous incident the cops didn't test for intoxication.

That might be the case, that John Kuczwanski was intoxicated. Because his behavior was totally over-the-top. From the news report:
Kuczwanski rammed his BMW into the Prius on the driver’s door, and began pushing the car sideways in the parking lot...Kuczwanski then shot a gun at the white Prius, according to the sources.

A mental health issue might explain it, too. Kuczwanski was completely out of control. There is no way a rational person could justify reacting that way.

I do feel sorry for his family. His wife, Rebekah Kuczwanski, posted on Twitter:
“He was on his way home early to pick us up for a farewell dinner for our daughter,” she wrote. “He called to say he was on his way to beat traffic. He was excited for dinner and to see us. He told us he loved us then never came home.”

It's surprising that a nut job like that could hold a professional job. I mean, how did he get that far without like eating the face of someone who expressed disapproval of his budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year?

Weapons are not permitted inside the Florida State Capitol. Not being allowed to carry a hammer makes all the nails just kind of disappear it seems.

What a ******* dumbass.

I especially like his wife claiming he was assassinated. Lady, people who are assassinated don't tend to open fire first.

At least she found someone of equal intellect to marry.

I wonder if they get any form of insurance payout? I understand if they did for the initial vehicle accident, but he initiated his own death.

Understatement.

The investigation into what occurred is still ongoing.

There are conflicting reports about what happened, though it appears events escalated to fatal violence following a traffic incident.

Something with the chain of events seems odd. First, what was the positioning of the vehicles that led to him ramming the Prius in the driver side door, and pushing it? Was he blocked in? Second, if he was shot through the windshield, how was he engaging in the gunfire? With his left hand out the window?

Obviously they must have plenty of evidence outside of the testimony of the gunfight winner. The whole scenario seems odd.

ETA: Not quite sure how much evidence they do have. Police are asking for any witnesses and those who may have video evidence to come forth, to help with the investIgation.

Life insurance usually pays unless there's evidence of actual suicide, and not even that after a waiting period. But I suspect the Prius driver has a huge claim against his attacker's estate.

'A man's Prius is his castle'?

We're ending up in Florida during a road trip in the near future (Ormond Beach is the turnaround point)... driving a new Prius Prime... think we'll have any trouble if we stay on the Atlantic coast of FL?

I paid about $300 for it, if I can recall. It was a used Taurus PT-92 9mm pistol of late 80's vintage.

I used to have one those, god I loved that weapon. Fit my hand perfectly and was very point and shoot, didn't require concentrated aiming.

Thanks for the memories. Dad was a Range Officer with Prohibited Weapon permits so I grew up around thousands of weapons, unlike most of my Canadian friends. :D

Actually that's exactly how i'm envisioning how it went down. You're not allowed to leave the scene of an accident even if you feel the need to shoot your way out.

I really don't give a fat rat's arse how it went down. The gun nut opened fire first and that dick move got him shot dead! Case closed!

I would like to express my thanks to that Prius driver for saving us all from yet another endless, tedious thread where all the gun apologists from the Kyle Rittenhouse thread would have been here arguing that Kuczwanski was somehow rightly in fear for his life after the accident and was fully justified in shooting at the Prius driver.

Its a pity something like this didn't happen in Kenosha on August 25, 2020 - a couple of other families might not be missing their sons and partners!

I'm totally shocked that as in every scenario where the person on the right is the obvious bad guy the situation will "seem odd" to your standard rollcall of RightTrolls.

It's like waiting for the other shoe to drop.
