Would you work for Trump?

Good evening. I was just asked if I thought there are any members of the Trump administration who will someday talk about how proud they were to be part of this team. I understand that it's fairly early in his first term but I just watched Sean Spicer do quite a dance at the press briefing and was wondering if Sean Spicer is proud of holding his position.

Wall Street Journal: "The most effective opponent of the Trump Presidency is Donald J. Trump."

WSJ said:
In other words, in 140-character increments, Mr. Trump diminished his own standing by causing a minor international incident, demonstrated that the loyalty he demands of the people who work for him isn't reciprocal, set back his policy goals and wasted time that he could have devoted to health care, tax reform or "infrastructure week."

If this pattern continues, Mr. Trump may find himself running an Administration with no one but his family and the Breitbart staff. People of talent and integrity won't work for a boss who undermines them in public without thinking about the consequences.

I would say yes, for $500,000 a year or more.

But its likely I would quit or get fired.

Rule number 2 when dealing with a narcissist: Get what you want first.

(Rule number 1, however, is DON'T deal with a narcissist unless you really have to.)

Ditto. If I could clear half a million for a year's work, and the work did not involve anything illegal, I would try to hang on for the year, but I would be under no delusions about the kind of man I was working for.

Some clients you need payment up front, and even then I've turned down work from people I don't trust even if they offer up front payment. I have the privilege of saying no, but I think I'd rather enjoy the negotiation.

I imagine some people would consider the offer of a position from the President an offer that shouldn't be refused out of respect for the office of the President itself, not necessarily the man holding that office. I wonder if that is was McMaster is doing. Perhaps he is staying there believing that he is some kind of control or safety out of concern of who he would be replaced with.

It would be an honor and a privilege.

I have some great ideas for a role as Special Prosecutor in the Public Integrity Unit.

If I was in a position where there was a critical national/homeland security vacancy and you just had to keep key things on the rails and protect a key institution until our national nightmare ends I would. I suspect SECDEF and SECDHS see themselves in that light.

I'd work for Trump. I'd devote to my job all the ability, competence, loyalty, and dignity that he devotes to his job.
