Why there are likely less than a million actual Trump supporters in the US.

The reason to vote for Biden is the same as it was to vote for HRC: Republicans already control too much of the Judiciary, and this gap cannot be allowed to widen further.

On top of that, if you are one of those wonks who believe in the Rule of Law, Trump should not be President while he has federal court cases involving his last Presidency pending.

No need to get into the merits of the candidates.

As far as I know, there's no law that says someone cannot be president if they have open court cases. There is, though, a law that says someone cannot be president if they're guilty of insurrection. How that law works in practice is apparently an open question.

.... I hate this ******* timeline.

You just did EXACTLY what I said. You make no distinction between "One is obviously better" and "hyperpartisan."

One staged a coup and brags about committing sexual assault. The other is just something of a goober. Who the better choice is is exactly zero percent complicated and you are now going to prove how honest of an agent you are by going "Oh so you're saying one is perfect and other is totally evil."

For the things I have a vested interest in, one is NOT obviously better than they other. They BOTH suck, for very different reasons.

I don't give a **** if YOU think that one is better than the other in obvious ways - go for it, I'm not trying to convince you otherwise. You're going to have a different suite of priorities and interests than me, and it is reasonable that you would favor one over the other based on those reasons. That's not my objection.

My objection is that when I say:
It's South Park. We are stuck having to vote for either a **** sandwich or a giant douche. The overwhelming majority of people aren't voting *for* who they want most, they're voting *against* who they want least.
You responded with:
Because real life isn't South Park if you think choosing between Trump and Biden is "turd sandwich and giant douche" you're beyond hope.

That's the problem.

I point out that the vast majority of Americans don't actually *like* either option we're being force fed, and that the vast majority of us end up holding our nose and voting AGAINST whoever we think is WORSE.

You respond by saying that I'm "beyond hope" for acknowledging that reality. You denigrate my view - which is held by most Americans - not because it's wrong in some fashion, but because I haven't jumped on YOUR bandwagon and pretended that the giant douche is good.

FFS, at the end of the day, I will end up hating the giant douche less than I hate the **** sandwich. But that still doesn't make the giant douche good - the giant douche is still a giant douche and I would still prefer almost anyone to either of the two party nominees that we're stuck with. I'm pretty sure that either part could grab some random middle aged person off the street instead of one of these two wankers and they'd win in a landslide.

You don't have to agree with my opinion on this. But for ****'s sake don't tell me that I'm " beyond hope" for having a perfectly reasonable opinion that is shared by MOST people in the ******* country.

Vote for Trump? Trump supporter.

Donate to Trump? Trump supporter.

Excuse Trump? Trump supporter.

All the rest is just hot air.

Vote for Biden? Biden supporter.

Taking your approach, the only way to not be a completely worthless ******* in someone's book is to never vote at all.

Biden is not marginally better. The dog poop I scrape off my shoe is marginally better than Donald Trump. Biden is light years better than Trump. Trump is dangerous.

I would prefer a younger more vibrant candidate than Biden. Biden looks old and sounds old. Because he is old. But he has been an excellent President. And Trump was a terrible President.

Trump was a terrible president... but from where I sit, Biden has also been a terrible president. It might not be important to you, but Biden's complete gutting of Title IX makes Biden dangerous to females in my view.

I get that equal rights and opportunities for females in the US might not be high on your list of priorities. That's fine - you can have whatever priorities suits you. But you should at least be aware that there are other issues that might be important to other people.

They both suck for females in the US, in very different ways. Which is why I'd prefer almost anyone else, and I feel quite justified in saying that they are both piles of odious crap.

I agree.

I disagree (although I will concede that some people's books are more fantastical than others, and their grasp on reality may be more or less sturdy).

How many criminal charges is Biden defending today?

How many elections has Biden tried to overturn?

How many porn stars has Biden ******?

How many of his kids has Biden given Government roles to?

How many times have Biden owned companies been found guilty of fraud?

False equivalency is false.

Do you really think Trump is good, or at least better for women than Biden?

Trump, the guy who has gloated about overturning Roe v. Wade?
Trump, who has cheated on everyone he has ever been married to?
Trump, who claimed that women let him "grab them by the pussy" because he's a celebrity?
Trump, who was unable to tell the difference between his former wife and the woman he sexually assaulted?
Trump, who is currently in court because he ****** a porn star while his wife was pregnant, and tried to pay for her silence?

This is your preferred option?

To be fair to Emily's Cat she didn't say Trump was her preferred option or better.

I vehemently disagree that they're even remotely comparable, but let's disagree with her based on what she actually said.

What on earth would give you the impression that I think Trump is better?

This is your preferred option?

My preferred options is, as I said, almost anyone who isn't Biden or Trump. I liked Tulsi Gabbard. I liked Andrew Yang. I liked Pete Booty-gig. I liked Vivek Ramaswamy this year, out of the Republican contenders. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the Democrat contenders, simply because I really, really, really want Trump to not be on the ballot.

Gutting? Total nonsense. Biden overturned the Trump Betsy Devos rule that made it harder for women to get protection for sexual assault. Biden administration’s rule will restore and strengthen essential protections for survivors and make sure schools don’t get away with silencing students and sweeping sexual assault under the rug.

Should be noted that most of the new Title IX rules were written by Senator Patty Murray.

They are very high on my list. This is why I fight for women's bodily autonomy.

How exactly does Biden suck for women?
Biden supports women's safety from sexual assault. The GOP doesn’t.
Biden supports family leave. The GOP doesn’t.
Biden supports equal pay. The GOP doesn’t.
Biden supports women's health. The GOP doesn’t.
Biden supports a woman's right to birth control. The GOP doesn’t.

The fact that it is not an established principle that you can never occupy a position of authority that gives you some level of control of the procedure or outcome of a criminal case against you is PRECISELY the reason why we do not really live under the Rule of Law - but it would be nice if people could agree that we should act as if we did and stopped people like Trump from in effect pardoning himself.

If a person votes for Trump, regardless of the reason, then they are a Trump supporter.

A person does not have to like Trump in order to support him with their vote but supporting him they are.

Yep.

This brings up an interesting question. If one intends to vote for T or B, what would a candidate do that would make one change?

I really don't like either but Trump's complete lack of principals disgusts me more.

I think that's more a question for Trump voters as he's the one with multiple indictments for several different crimes and found liable for sexual assault. There's nothing Biden could do that would ever make me vote for Trump. Frankly, the fact that the GOP has tried their damnedest to find something ...anything...to charge Biden with and failed tells me they have nothing.

This is a much more successfully communicated version of what I was trying to say.

I have been involved in politics for almost 50 years and have heard this refrain in every election. My Dad use to make this one joke about Presidential elections. "It's like the choice between Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and he didn't have a favorite Tweedle."

I have always found this sad. Do people actually expect a perfect candidate? Don't they understand that compromise is inevitable?

There are lots of things I don't like about Biden. But I do think he's a good man trying to do his best for all of us.

My approach has always been that the least bad option is the best option.
