Smelling fishy

Sometimes people try to be complimentary and mistakenly are rude. Very confusing sometimes.
"Terry"?
Sometimes they're just yankin' your chain. Y'know, joking.

Where is there fullness without the potential of absence? Where is there knowing without the yearning to know? Where is there sentience without a state of on and off? What is the Yin without the Yang?Dancing David said:
I would help if you would answer the little questions, instead of using the big brush. Where is perfection in suffering?

Relative to what? A higher state of perfection perhaps?Dancing David said:
If you don't want to be here, then is it perfect?
Dancing David said:
You are full of it here Iachuss, you demean those who have suffered by pretending that you have suffered mysthology, I did think you had more compassion than this.
What is Ecstasy without the potential for madness? Now this sounds like some personal suffering, in Illinois people are only committed when they are a threat to themselves or others. Your mythological suffering is still demeaning.
No, I only admit that you can't acknowledge truth without the potential to be mistaken. Otherwise we would be perfect.Dancing David said:
So you admit that the universal truth may be false, then where is perfection?
What is black without perpendicular?Iacchus said:What is Ecstasy without the potential for madness?
This comes dangerously close to a testable hypothesis, Iacchus. I'll grant that some theorists would agree with you (Alexander Lowen comes to mind), but the majority do not.Iacchus said:Yes, and if we tend to forsake the happiness and joy in our lives, we tend to wind up in the loonie bin now don't we?
The universe is not perfect, it is chaotic or vastly flawed.
And yet how is it that I can acknowledge that there is no -- seemingly apparent -- relationship in what you're saying here? So tell me, what's the difference between that which is obvious and not so obvious?
Yes, and if we tend to forsake the happiness and joy in our lives, we tend to wind up in the loonie bin now don't we?
Well, I guess we could settle for apathy and complacency instead?Mercutio said:

Perfection is the backdrop which underscores the experience. Perfection is coming into being ... which, is awareness of The One.uruk said:

The universe is perfect within it's imperfection. It is perfectly imperfect. Therefore imperfection is perfection. Since we are all imperfect thus we are all perfect.
I can't believe you didn't figure this out Iacchus. You are perfect in your imperfection. But then where is knowledge without ignorance? Vindication without embarrassment? Clarity without obtuseness? A king without his fool? Lavern without Shirley
A wise old saying comes to mind when a I read your posts: If you can't dazzel them with diamonds; Baffle them with Bull$h!te.
You, Iacchus, are perfect in your imperfections.
Exactly! Which, is why we tend to impose our suffering onto others.uruk said:
Yes and if we deny and fail to deal with that which vexes and cause us suffering we wind up in the same place.
The problem is people become numb and begin to build up defenses, while continuing to do the thing which causes the pain. All the while the potential continues to build, for even greater suffering and pain.Dancing David said:
There is enough minor pain to know pain, and to know that it is not happiness. There is enough suffering to not merit there being rape and torture in the universe.
Perfection is the backdrop which underscores the experience. Perfection is coming into being ... which, is awareness of The One.
Imposing on others is not dealing with your suffering. This is one of the things which leads to insanity.Exactly! Which, is why we tend to impose our suffering onto others.
What does "pilloring" mean, from Piscivore's response to your comment I pressume that it's something bad. When I want to insult somebody I prefer to do it in a direct manner because all the fun in insulting others is to get it out of your chest. So no, it wasn't my intention to insult Mr. Iacchus in a concealed manner.Radrook said:Is this really complimentary or is this an ill concealed attempt at pilloring?
