Wednesday Dinner

I take this means yes, though I dispute the allegation. It's not that I like the church or their behaviour in dealing with the matter, but I don't think dear Benny has been accused of being a child molester himself.

Those who shelter child molesters are child molesters themselves.

So the answer is...YES!!!

And it's not like we can be completely sure he's not a child molester himself. I haven't seen any proof doesn't molest little boys...

Well, that's "in dubio pro reo" for you. :p Benny hasn't been accused of any direct child molestation, and there is no evidence yet suggesting that he has.

I'd like to go too. I'll also be stuffing packets that afternoon, I'm sure others in the volunteer corps there would be interested.

As far as riding the bus system, it was very inconvenient last year. There's a bus that runs from the South Point to the transport center, but there seems to be over an hour between buses, thats an hour standing in the full heat of the day at an unsheltered bus stop. Its also very slow, it took over two hours combined wait time and travel time to get to the strip.

That's what I encountered last year as well. The only thing the bus has going for it is that it's cheap.

I'll also be stuffing packets in the afternoon as a first time volunteer (but 4th time TAM attendee), and very interested in eating/drinking/socializing/embarrassing myself with the rest of you at night. No vehicle, but I'll be glad to share the cost of a taxi/limo from & to South Point. FYI, the stretch limo that a group of us took to the strip last year turned out to be surprisingly affordable.

I, like Jamye, would like to join, will not have wheels available, but can chip in for transportation.

Are you driving in from Hawaii?

That's just silly. Google Maps Direction tells you to kayak 2,756 miles across the Pacific, docking at Seattle. You can't fit a car on a kayak.

I want to go.

I will have a car, and will accept a drink in return for a ride.

However, if I'm driving, it will be only one drink.

I'll buy you a nice glass of port in return for a ride back, GG.

Got room for one more? I'll actually be staying at the Main Street Station on Wednesday and could meet up with the group there.

I'd like to go if I can get a ride, willing to pay my way to Freemont Street. It will be my first night at my first TAM and I didn't want to spend it seeing Déjà Vu: Show and Dance Band in the Showroom @ SouthPoint. In case anyone *is* looking for an alternative though:

I'm in. If someone has a ride or wants to split a cab, let me know.

If there are a bunch of people needing rides, I don't mind doing two runs. An early group can go down and wander around downtown, or have a few beers, before the rest arrive.

Of course, if I am being paid in beer, it would be best to wait until we are back at the South Point...

Hmmmmm... we should have a meet-up point/time at South Point, so that available vehicles can be suitably filled.

I counted 23 people and at least 3 vehicles (Hutch didn't mention whether he will be wheeled or not) in this thread. There were a few other people who posted, but didn't express an interest in food/beer at the 777, so I didn't count them. I will go ahead and make a reservation for 30 to accomodate any stragglers (with a note to the restaurant there may be more). It doesn't take too long to get there, depending on what rush hour traffic is doing, so if people leave the South Point by 6:30, there should be time to wander aimlessly before dining.

So, I will take a first load of diners downtown, meeting at the area leading to the Parking Garage in the casino at 5:30 on Wednesday. My car can reasonably fit 4 people who aren't driving, unreasonably fit 6 if two want to ride in the "wagon" portion of the station wagon. I will be back to pick up a second load at 6:30 at the Parking Garage area. Basically, the Parking Garage entrance is on the complete opposite side of the casino from the Del Mar bar.

Does this work for everyone?
