Trump's Second Term

It occurs to me that the USA could soon have great stockpiles of "lovely clean coal" everywhere and absolutely nothing to use it for, almost no US consumers. It would be like a factory still churning out tons of Ford Model-T spare parts: retired technology nobody will ever use.

The coal industry would have to look to sell this mountainous stockpile to international customers. I think China might still be buying coal! Oh wait...bigly tariffs put paid to trading with China! ;)
 
He is so weird about wind power.

He says they don't work. As I write this, 22% of UK electricity is coming from domestic wind generation.
He says China has no wind farms. They have more wind generating capacity that anyone else.
He says they dangerously interfere with radar. Well, no, that's vastly overstating the effect they have.

From over here all we hear is one side - the crazy stuff Trump says. Are the US media agreeing with the emperor about his new clothes or are they pointing out that wind power is expanding rapidly everywhere else because it's cheap and it works?

Ditto for solar. China leads the world in solar uptake too. However, many other countries including the USA are investing heavily there as well, and it is paying off big time. This has not gone unreported.

You mean Texas? No, I guess you don't mean Texas. Maybe they had those blackouts because they make power from that nasty intermittent oil instead of beautiful clean coal.

China is moving away from coal and on to renewables as fast as it can.

Trump is proving himself to be a useful idiot to billionaires, particularly the fossil fuel industry.

Even if you don't believe in taking care of the environment, you should concern yourself with one, the total implosion of car manufacturing in the US and allowing the fossil fuel industry to have an unfettered monopoly on energy. There will be shortages. Often manufactured by that monopoly.

I would speculate the industries that depend on fossil fuels are either so geared to new technologies or so run down now that "new" investment will not prove viable in either the near of longer future. In short, it would cost more to go backwards than forwards.

In 2013 Trump sued to force the removal of wind turbines off the coast from his golf course in Aberdeen, Scotland, claiming they "spoiled the view". He lost the case and was eventually required to pay Scotland's legal costs. He hates losing and holds grudges forever, so now he hates wind turbines with a burning passion that would make Don Quixote say "Hey, take it down a few notches."

Also he is a vainglorious senile ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ moron, with no understanding of how anything (other than extortion) works. Mostly what you said, though; He's a petty, vengeful little turd of a man, with a hate-on for wind turbines because he lost that fight.
