Trump's Second Term

ETA. Those miners are going to be so sadly disappointed when they find out the long-closed and decrepit coal mines in their dying town are not going to open up ever again. If they are, indeed, real miners...;)
Or that automation lost them a lot of jobs as well as environmental issues.

Maybe the Trump-class battleships can be coal-fired.
The coal loading in WWI and maybe WWII was a tedious process. Even though steam ships survived to WWII, they probably were converted to oil:
WW I era steam powered destroyer:

On the other hand the coal for power plants is a good idea in one respect: if the train tips over, you just load the coal back in when the cars are on track again.

The RN used a large number of coastal supply ships and small minesweepers and patrol ships that were coal fired in WW2

Victualling Inshore Craft, two survivors in civilian colours, converted to oil firing after the war. There were about a hundred of these built.

Isles Class patrol minesweeper about 140 built

Reopening a closed mine of any type requires meeting or exceeding safety standards in everything. If there are any that cannot be met it's done.

All grandfather clauses the operation had enjoyed before the closing are gone. The sheer costs of that are enormous.
Then toss in coal is not in demand as before making profit speculation a real thing.
If you dig it who will buy it?

Steel industry is in shambles, power plants also shuttered and need serious updates to reopen. Maybe to convert coal to gas for current operations? They already have a steady supply coming in.

Maybe fearless leader envisions steam powered zepplins providing luxury travel for the rich in a dementia induced fever dream but a reality is those mines closed for safety and not profitable.

Does anyone actually in the coal industry fall for this crap? They still have a few power plants out there using it somewhere, but who would use increased product?

Who's this nonentity "internet personality" Eric Daugherty? Oh, just some guy who did poli-sci at Florida Gulf Coast University in 2020. Probably so glad he got his emperor to retweet him!

Eric Daugherty, huh? My best guess is that it's Eric Trump, and that he actually meant to spell it Daughtery, to make his dad love him.

I'm now picturing this symbol rolling along like a square wheel going *rumprumprump*
Not of course if you are on the appropriate inverted catenary course,

Trump supporter: “I think that people are ridiculous that they think Putin is such an enemy. He isn't doing anything. He just wants back what was his”

“He invaded Ukraine, killing thousands of people”

Trump supporter: “That's fine with me.”

Ya know, I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that, only just the previous decade, these very same people were calling Obama a "communist" and lying about his relationship with Russia/Putin at the time and using that as a weapon against Obama. Now all the sudden, they are using it as a weapon FOR Trump.

They also screamed about him using executive orders. Nevermind, they never specified what any of his EOs were for. Now all the sudden, its just fine that Trump is using executive orders.

Suffer the consequences!

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
Any Republican, in the House or the Senate, that votes against TARIFFS will seriously suffer the consequences come Election time, and that includes Primaries! Our Trade Deficit has been reduced by 78%, the Dow Jones has just hit 50,000, and the S&P, 7,000, all Numbers that were considered IMPOSSIBLE just one year ago. In addition, TARIFFS have given us Great National Security because the mere mention of the word has Countries agreeing to our strongest wishes. TARIFFS have given us Economic and National Security, and no Republican should be responsible for destroying this privilege. PRESIDENT DONALD

J. TRUMP
Have two, Donald.
