Trump's Second Term

That was a defensive war. The United States escalated the war by getting directly involved. When the North Koreans started the war in 1950, China "only" provided weapons and training, like we so recently have done for Ukraine against Russia. Once it looked like North Korea was about to win the war, the United States became directly involved and pushed them back towards the Yalu, or whatever the name of that river is that separates Korea from China. A certain general had to be fired because he wanted to start WWIII by invading China-proper. Just before he was let go, we very clearly threatened China right on their back porch. I'm sorry, but that wasn't China's choice to join the fight, so much as it was the USA forcing their hand. China was definitely the reasonable one in Korea, as they pushed us back towards the 38th Parallel; the original positioning after the Americans left after the defeat of Japan in 1945. I'm not too clear about events between 1945 and 1950. I know we were there for a few years when two Koreas were formed. And we pulled out before the North invaded the South in 1950. But ultimately, China was never directly involved until we were. And even then, China didn't become directly involved until US forces pushed up closer to their border.

And besides the fact that, its really weird for an imperialist westerner from an aggressive nation (of perhaps not; I don't know if you are American or not), to sort of "defend" the aggressive nation of the United States that has been literally in practically every single country on the planet since 1945. Whereas China, in comparison, has been extremely passive on the world stage. At most, you can only point at a handful of situations, and even then, pretty much all of them were very minor incidents. With Korea perhaps being the hottest event, and even then, it was much more defensive in nature.
Imperialist westerner? Sure pal. And WTH is "defend"? You said it had never happened. I just pointed out that yeah, it did once in the 50s. That's it.

Venezuela is on another continent.

Rubio on Russia-Ukraine: "It's not our war. It's a war on another continent."

“A quarrel in a faraway country, between people of whom we know nothing”

They just effectively killed the Kennedy Center. The awards show will go away. And so will many artists who once thought it would be an honor performing there.

He means shoot people

Burgum: "We have an opportunity to take a strip of land right along the border [in California], transfer it to the military for a 3 year period. Then, if someone crosses into our country and steps on that, they're stepping on a military installation. That gives our troops that are down there more authority about detaining people."

But not Oregon? Or Washington? How about Texas, Florida, Georgia, New York, Maine, etc.? All of those face the ocean too and are legitimate "migrant landing zones". But you want just California...

Seems you just might have other reasons besides "border control" to harass places you hate with armed troops... Also, it's a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ stupid, impractical, expensive idea, but that went without saying.

In news that will shock and surprise people in equal* measure. It's being claimed that not all the Epstein files will be ready to be released today.

*ETA, I haven't defined what this level of surprise is
