Trump's Second Term

It's something for people with no real health problems but a vague sense of unease to worry about. Usually so they can pamper themselves while feeling virtuous.
It's my impression that "wellness" tends to break out in overuse of white and beige in home decor. For some reason those who are "well" seem to avoid color.

Apparently people at a rally in Tel Aviv are praising Trump, which is fair as he's done far more to help the Israelis than he has US citizens.

A $5 million bribe isn't enough to protect your energy project.

Trump kills major project backed by company donating millions to his White House ballroom

A firm that cut millions of dollars in donations to President Donald Trump's plan for a massive new ballroom wing of the White House has suddenly found one of its flagship energy projects canceled by the Bureau of Land Management with no explanation.

According to The New York Times, "The project, known as Esmeralda 7, would have comprised a sprawling network of solar panels and batteries across 118,000 acres of federally owned land in the Nevada desert northwest of Las Vegas. It was expected to produce up to 6.2 gigawatts of energy, enough to power nearly two million homes." It would have been one of the largest solar installations anywhere in the world.

A developer leading the project was NextEra Energy, one of the biggest utility firms in the United States.

"NextEra was among the companies that donated at least $5 million to fund the construction of Mr. Trump’s $200 million ballroom in the East Wing of the White House, CBS News reported."
Looks like you should have made a bigger bribe donation.

When Noem says that, it's pretty clearly not her saying what she believes, though? Rather, it's better described as an attempt at Vranyo. She knows she's lying brazenly. We know she's lying brazenly. So long as she doesn't receive notable pushback, though, she "wins." This is fine when it's inconsequential humor, of course, but this is not really either inconsequential or humor.

This isn't a matter of stupidity, it's more a matter of demanding that what they say goes, even when it directly contradicts reality. It's an attempt to commit authoritarian bullying to the core.

Meh. This statement irks me a little bit. It's true enough to work just fine for the current situation, but doesn't apply in all situations. Republican propagandists are trying to falsely assert that the reality of our present moment is one of those situations where it doesn't really apply - where antifa doesn't actually stand for anti-fascist. It's not an assertion being made in good faith, yes, but it is entirely conceivable that the ill intentioned can work to subvert any label or organization to represent and work to do the opposite of their official/original purpose.
To a MAGA a thing can mean whatever you want it to mean. Hoo-yay, Navy! But Noem and Trump are genuinely stupid. People mistake Trump's stupidity for humour. Unless of course, Habeas, he say, you go in shop and you no pay. Shopkeeper, he pay you to take goods away. Plice dlop hunert percent. Hoo-yay.

Someone explained to me the chart below indicates -- at least to the people at Oddschecker -- the most likely exit date for trump is next year, 2026. That if you bet $100 he'd be out of the White House by Dec 31 2026, a bookie would give you 5.5-to-1 odds. If you lost you'd lose one hundred bucks. If you won, you get five hundred fifty bucks.

That the odds this year are 9-to-1. In 2027 8-to-1. In 2028 10-to-1.

If you wanted to bet trump would leave in 2029 or later, the bettor would have to give the bookie odds. Have to bet $278 in order to win $100.

I rarely agree with dudalb, but in this case I do.

Today, there are still people who pretend that the only alternative to "working with the Germans" was for Denmark to be "honorably destroyed."
When I google "WW2 German occupation Denmark's collaboration with Germany," Google's AI tells me, correctly:

When you claim that "in 1940, the government decided to work with the Germans to avoid the worst. It worked," you leave out that the Danish contribution to the Nazi war effort may have helped Denmark get relatively unscathed through WW2, but the word relatively already implies that other countries didn't fare as well – often because they actually resisted the Nazis. Many of the Nazi soldiers who invaded those other countries were fed by the "significant food supplies to Germany" provided by Denmark.

So Denmark survived WW2 "without too much damage" by dishonorably helping prolong the war to the detriment of other countries. The Danish government even let Danes fight for Germany against the Soviet Union, one of the Allied countries that defeated the Nazis in the end.
I note that you agree with me about how Denmark came relatively unscathed out of the Second World War. You just think it would have been better to be a honourably destroyed. Well, I am a coward, and sod honour!

There is so much Denmark and similar countries could do to oppose the fascist takeover of the USA, but instead ...
American fighter jets in Greenland - American fighter jets were supported by Denmark when they visited Greenland this week

American fighter jets in the air over Greenland
This week, American fighter jets were in the air over Greenland supported by Danish Defense.

If I were a nationalist, I'd be ashamed of this despicable display of cowardice and opportunism. I wonder what the people of Greenland think of it.
I don't understand: the U.S. has had a major base in Greenland since WW2. What is new about American fighter jets over Greenland?

The safest bet would probably be 2028, when he realizes his grifting days are soon to be mostly behind him. With a second possible time of late 2026 early 2027, when he realizes the new Congress will soon impeach him. Unless the elections are rigged, in which case, all bets are off...
